I only found the trap door(s) after my 8th time through
when your in Alex's office, turn right (dont go down the stairs in there)and keep looking on the floor, walking while your doing it. you'll eventually see a piece of floor highlight.(there are 2 false floor pieces if I remember correctly)
after I found it. I started again and went in there the first time. more things to nabb that way :D
Have Fun!

Crouch down when you're behind the desk (the desk across from the door with the keypad). There are two sliding panels you'll find if your crosshairs are close enough to them.

Thanks to you both, I got it! :)
I guess I just didn't put my nose to floor enough. :)
Starting the next mission... :thumb:

Just a quick comment on something I'm sure you all know, but I found very impressive.
I just completed the NY airfield mission, finding out
my brother changed sides, then having to decide what to do when faced with the guy (Lebenov?) I was supposed to kill.
I saved before making any decision, of course, because in MOST games of this sort, there is one, AND ONLY ONE, "correct" decision, and if you choose incorrectly, you fail the mission, die, or both. What a completely refreshing surprise that I could pretty much choose to do whatever I wanted, with the gameplay/plot responding to my decision! :thumb:
I chose the path of "duty-bound agent" by
killing my assigned target.
But I also tried
killing Navarra (Sheesh, a point-blank shot directly in her left eye, and she still was able to TURN INVISIBLE, and cause some serious damage before exploding into bloody fragments),
. After this I heard a good deal about an interesting plot twist, which I must now try to forget since I settled on the former option, and the comments afterward from Jacobson were appropriate and believable. VERY COOL!
I tried a few other, violent and non-violent paths, but decided to stick with my first choice to proceed on.
I also found it surprising that a direct hit from an anti-tank rocket did absolutely no damage to the helicopter, nor did the pilot even comment on the fact that I shot at him. Just goes to show that there are SOME limitations, anyway. :)
This has gotten too long, sorry. Moving on... :thumb:

Judging from the lack of response to my last post, this will almost certainly be my last post on this topic, as the "We-don't-give-a-crap"-ness is painfully obvious.
(big, fat, hairy) BUT.....
A few completely useless observations/thoughts/questions/comments on my progress thus far:
1. After getting on the subway to the Hell's kitchen (part 3) level, faced with Navarre, I killed her by
running to the ventilation system and sniping.
But, is Gunther impossible to kill? I used up every last bit of my accumulated ammo, and the bastard was still standing. I understand that
after he "kills" me, I'm taken to the prison, and new objectives/plotlines are given
, but is he invincible? If not, what happens when you kill him??
2. I found the "Hong Kong (1)" mission extremely irritating! Unless I'm mistaken (probably true), there is only one lockpick to be found in this level, but in order to complete the level by
finding the nano key in one of the barrack lockers
, at least TWO lockpicks are required. I started the level with zero lockpicks, and so was unable to complete it until I reloaded to an EXTREMELY PREVIOUS save; Waaay back at UNATCO headquarters, where I had (admittedly stupidly) used all my lockpicks on useless-to-no-gain locked things.
3. Does anything happen to/with Navarre as far as plot, if you don't kill her? I heard that she had the hots for me, and she is kind of attractive, in a female-Russian-cyborg-mutant kind of way. ...those Russians are kinky, right?
Comments/answers would be appreciated, but are not expected, as I would just as soon stop posting my progress.
Again, reserving the right to ask stupid questions if/when stuck. :)

Gunther is invincible in Battery Park.
Unless a door's Strength rating is INF (infinite) you can blow them open with a GEP gun, LAM, LAW, etc.
If you don't kill Anna in the subway you will encounter her later and have to kill her then. There are some clever ways around the final confrontation but they are more like glitches... the game intends you to be forced to kill her at that point if you haven't already done so.
Thanks, I hadn't tried that. Good to know.
As to Gunther and Navarre, I thought so. Thanks for confirming.

And it's very useful in those barracks, as a well-placed LAM can bust open two or three doors at a time. :)
We're still interested in your progress!

There should be some gep rockets in a room under the helipad/hanger room, too. The gepgun 'lockpick' technique is a tried and tested DX favourite.
