That outdoor shot is completely unfinished work, according to the devs. The textures are all placeholder textures, not nearly the final versions at all. You have to wonder why it was released at all ...
I suggest all of you chundle over to gamespot and look at their new screenshots. They are absolutely brilliant, mainly because character shadows are no longer pitch black anymore.
Also, IGN and gamespot have some previews, and gamespy is doing one soon, I think.
