molest
FYI - I'm guessing English is not your first language, but this word has different connotations to how you've used it. :o
As for the mission:
Off the garden area,
there is a spiral staircase with doors at a couple of different floors. The bottom-most door leads into a new area.

@ nicked:
I mean "disturb". (molestar is used in latin languages like italian or spanish and means "to annoy, to bother, to get on someones' nerves", etc.
And thank you for better describing the location in question! I completely forgot about the locked door at the very bottom of the basement stairs.
I'm on my way now.

It's been a while since I last played a thief mission, decided to return again playing new missions, started with "Intertheft" and what a huge satisfaction I had playing this one, the thief 1 spirit is well present here, the places are well built , well decorated and they pulled me to explore them in full , the gameplay is very good , the story is interesting , overall a high quality mission!
Thank you so much for this beautiful production !!!

Are we missing something? Since The Big Names on here are just hand wringing and waffling their low-energy apologies, I'll say from the outside, it's hard to not interpret this a deliberate slight to the contest organizer (Brethren). It seems like you got together and said "nope, we're sitting this one out."
I get that you all might have valid excuses, it just looks terrible that no one on here submitted anything except two newcomers, who are probably not inside whatever clique you guys are in. I'm not friends with any of you special authors so I can be honest and say wtf guys
I'm sure Brethren will be super eager to organise the next contest. Maybe that was the point?

Insofar as 'The Big Names' have a clique, I am honoured to say that I would count Brethren as part of it. We're able to talk honestly about this because we know and respect him. It was in no way meant as an insult, and in fact we're currently working with Brethren on something special.
I appreciate your concern for apparent rudeness and hostility, but I'd recommend not speculating idly about other people and their motivations.

The bad news is, yes, I won't lie, I was hoping for far more entries than we received. I'm not sure how exactly to account for this. If you are an existing or aspiring FM author, some constructive feedback would be much appreciated. Why did this theme and ruleset not interest you? What could be done differently next time? Let me know what's on your mind, so maybe things can be changed if another similar contest is ever announced.
Here is my view. Hopefully this is of some use.
What might have led to the low turnout:* The contest theme and rules could have been clearer. Multiple people in the contest announcement thread had questions on what was allowed.
* The announcement thread contained no information about how submission and voting would be organized.
* There was a discussion about the legality of reworkings of original missions which might have caused some authors to not participate.
* Similar contest themes had been done before in the Thief Reloaded Contests from 2010 and 2012.
* The announcement thread quickly derailed into an argument about Thief (2014).
* There were few posts by potential authors in the announcement thread, which early on gave me the impression there was little interest in the contest. Others might have had the same impression, which in turn might have led them to skip this seemingly unpopular contest.
What could be done better next time:* Make sure the contest theme, rules, submission steps, and voting system are clearly communicated.
* Secure participation of 3-5 authors before the announcement of the contest and then use their participation in marketing the contest.
Now that the contest is over, could you please...* Unsticky the "Announcement: New Dark 10 Year Anniversary Contest" thread.
* Give each of the two submitted missions their own thread. Having the whole discussion about both missions in the release thread is awkward. These two missions deserve their own thread. This will also make finding hints for each mission much easier.
* Mirror both missions on the current Thief fan mission repositories.

I had no idea any of us were under an obligation to make missions for every contest out there. Also I don't know about any big name clique but there certainly is a clique of imbeciles and you are the newest member. Congratulations.

Ah yes. Well, I'll recommend you to grow a little your mind up and visit the Dromed server to see how we treat newcomers, after that I think the only one who will apologie will be you and only you.
"Our Clique" like you say is always welcoming and sharing its knowledge to any author, could they be neophyte, new contributors or confirmed authors.
If you said that for attention, good job, you got it but you won't look good.
If it was just because you wanted to see our work and got upset for not seeing it... well, big news : we have a life. Instead of giving such an absurd behaviour, enjoy the great work of these new authors and ask for more, then you'll maybe give yourself a better picture and give something positive. That's how a community work and FYI, contests exist to challenge authors but also discover new talents.

Except it was made rather clear that this is NOT another Reloaded Contest. In truth, this was closer to the Classic Thief Experience Contest. Seeing that even after it's over, the NewDark Contest is still being compared to the Reloaded ones is kinda bizarre, not gonna lie.

This one made me laugh. Even if before announcing the contest, the organizer has confirmation from a few authors that they would participate, there is no guarantee that they will. And no-one is obliged to commit to that either.

To be clear here: I liked the theme of this contest. I also understand the contest theme was a bit different from the two Thief Reloaded Contests.

My idea was the organizers talk to some authors first and if they get positive feedback on the contest theme, they mention in the announcement 3-5 authors have expressed their intent to participate. Intent to participate is not an obligation to submit an entry, but a few posts by authors that they are working on missions could then encourage further authors. See what I mean?
