Is everyone here a 'new' doctor who fan?
My God. I just remembered my first experience of Doctor Who.

I tried watching the new series (Ecclestone) but just lost interest.

I grew up watching the Baker era, and now I've seen all the eps from the Pertwee era to the present.
Some people are saying the second season isn't as good as the first, but I disagree.
Tennant is very good, but I wouldn't say he's better than Eccleston. I'm just glad that he turned out to be a decent Doctor, though . . . I was worried when his casting was announced.
I completely agree that Russell T. Davies is the weakest writer. It's strange how he brought back Doctor Who and clearly gets it, but his scripts generally suck ass. The exception was Tooth and Claw. That episode has given me hope that Davies might finally be improving.
And the latest episode with the Cybermen . . . fuck, that was good. Really good. Only had a few minor nitpicks with it, but it comes close to perfection. The new Cybermen kick ass. (I guess the fact that Graeme Harper directed these Cybermen episodes, has something to do with it. Caves of Androzani, anyone?)

I've been enjoying the new series. In the last one I felt they spent too much time in Wales- I mean I'm Welsh, so it's great that BBC Wales is making it, but if I could go anywhere at anytime I wouldn't spend that much time here.
At least it's not anything like that appalling film which they should pretend never happened.
