HL1's headcrabs are cool and kinda nice compared to HL2's disgusting slime spiders. I tell you late 90s was the peak time for the FPS genre, it all gone downhill since. For example, HL1 has much better lighting than HL2. Nice justification for your 300$ video card?

No it doesn't. I'm currently replaying HL (I've been avoiding it since I heard about Black Mesa, which is a long time to avoid replaying something, but now my curiosity is piqued as to how much rose-tinted specs is influencing my quibbles with BM) and it definitely doesn't. Anyways, the combat with the HECU (and in fact in general)
is more fun in the original, mainly because you can run around at 1 million miles an hour double shotgunning everything in the face. BM is more realistic in that you run something like a human, I guess, but the combat is definitely way more grindy. Needs a rebalance.
