Welcome Shaun. If you post more than 4 times here I'll dance on tree leaves.
Naked.
Then provide pics.
Thank you.

The only US accent-type that I've ever had trouble with is that like Boomhauer's from King of the Hill.
Americans can't understand him, that's the point.

Oh no Dia, you can't fool me into doing that another ten times. On the other hand you were real polite....

I've noticed that an increasing number of American commercials are using British and Australian accents recently, though, more than I ever remember seeing in the past ... offhand Geico, Victoria's Secret, Travelocity, Orbit gum ...
For one commercial, I can't remember exactly just now, but the unseen narrator had something like a strong, young Australian accent and was speaking for a traditional American company, and the way she kept emphasizing "we" and "our", as if she were the literal voice of the company itself (although it was probably as old as her grandparents and more American than apple pie), made the fact really stand out.
I was trying to figure out why the sudden spike in accents in commercials these days. Maybe they're all trying to sell themselves as global companies all of a sudden.

I know that about
him, I mean accents like that. I don't even know where his accent is supposed to be from. The other US accent I find odd, but can still understand for the most part, is from Boston I think. Wherever it is they say kaa instead of car.

Boomhauer's issue isn't really the accent, more like he has a stuttering problem. Most everybody on that show, him included, has a noticeable Texan accent ("I tell ya whut.").

Maybe he is waiting for his wool to grow back.
