<strong>Arx Fatalis Patches</strong> [December 17, 2002, 6:10 PM EST]
<br>Arkane Studios has released a new patch for Arx Fatalis, their 3D RPG, though they have chosen to leave the version number frozen at 1.15. The update can be found on <a href="http://www.3dgamers.com/news/more/1040162017/">3D Gamers</a>, <a href="http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=1478">FileShack</a> (registration required), and <a href="http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=7652">Worthplaying</a>.

Now what would the point of keeping the number of the patch the same be?
I just hope this doesn't confuse people who will be trying to update their game, but don't because the numbers are the same.

<a href="http://www.arxfatalis-online.com/eng/news/news.php">More information at ArxFatalis-Online.com</a>, along with the official <a href="http://www.arxfatalis-online.com/eng/files/files.php">downloads</a> page (as that wasn't mentioned at Blue's News.)
Here's the description from the link above. I'll put it in spoiler tags, but I'd suggest that anyone who has started the game already should have a look, as it concerns a possible way for the player to get stuck in the game. If you haven't started the game yet, then just apply the patch and feel free to not look at the description :)

Players reported that Kultar attacks you in the castle, if you did not free him from the prison at the beginning of the game. The player stays stuck because the sewers don't open.
This is fixed with the updated patch v1.15.

IMHO, it's a bad idea to have kept the same number.
They should have named it "v1.151".
It's obvious that just 1 bugfix does not justify a "v1.16" but since it's different from 1.15, it should have been increased.
BTW, there's already been a version 1.131, so why not a 1.151?
That way, they wouldn't have been all that confusion about the version number.

Agreed. It's never a good idea to release a new patch without updating the version number. It's just a number, after all... it's not as if changing it does any harm.
