Sweet! And there I was thinking that I was going to have some difficulty playing the game properly on my shiny new rig.
Nice one, Arkane :) (Just so long as any new compatibility/bug fixes are made available as a patch for the existing versions).

I don't know, no steam in this release I would presume?

:-(
but still, the patch will rule for those who have problems. i never had issues except the missing texture madness, but there is a way to fix that :-)

Cheers, Digi. Excellent news on the patch.
There's no mention of the problem mentioned here recently concerning Arx and GeForce 8x00 series video cards, with coronas from light sources being visible through solid walls.
I suspect this is a video card driver bug, as I'm sure I saw something very similar in another game as well (although I'm damned now if I can remember which game it was, so I can't be absolutely positive that I didn't just dream it). However it would be very nice to know whether they have observed the issue and if there is a fix on the way for this as well (even if it's from nVidia rather than Arkane).
Now that I've finished Bioshock, I guess I should try some WHQL drivers for my 8600 and see if that makes a difference (hmm... in fact, there are WHQL drivers post-dating the betas released for Bioshock, so I'll report back on those tonight, provided I remember).
edit: I'm using the 163.71 drivers now, but no change.

Sorry guys, I missed one additional note from Raf.
It will not be an art "book" but a collection of artwork on the disc, though it will be more expansive than the one that came with the UK edition of the game years ago.

What about the bloody map editor?
Do you still have to beg them via e-mail for it?

if i remember right they did all the levels on a 3d program modeling madness i believe. i am not sure, so if this is way off, then damn me to hells :-)
and sucks about no artbook though.
edit - i just noticed digital nightfall wrote "a making of video". this rules. and more artwork included on the cd. hell yes. hopefully i'll arrive on the us someway. ebay? :)

There was no editor... all of the level geometry was made using 3rd party software (like 3DS MAX or something) and then imported. Though, I do wonder how possible it would be for them to release the tools which would allow the level geometry to be imported and exported?
