I am ashamed to have ever been a graphics whore. The game already looked amazing, and yet people actually played it, thinking "I wonder how much better it could possibly be"? I just played it on the 50" with my jaw dropped the entire time. I was impressed with what they delivered on 360, not disappointed for what few polys and shadows they could possibly add.
Oh, well. To each their own.

I have my 360 hooked up to my monitor. It exposes all of the flaws that consoles have, free of the artificial colouration provided by the garbage gimmicky features that TV manufacturers like to shove into their displays.

So, noone here plays it yet on PC?

Remedy has stated that Alan Wake's PC port paid back it's expenses in 48hours, which is quite awesome.

That's great news. Statements like that could really turn other developers' heads.

What is this game anyway? Adventure?
Renzatic on 21/2/2012 at 20:20
Scary action semi sorta survival horror.
Think of it as a cross between Resident Evil 4 and Max Payne.

Think of it as a "game" where you run around in a forest collecting torch batteries and thermos flasks whilst being followed by some gimp narrator who only wishes it was less repetitive than Assassin's Creed.
I don't like it, you might have got that.
Someone provide a pic of Alan with MLP, man needs to cheer the fuck up.

A rare genre in videogames, thriller. With a big shooter part (but the shooter part is quite unusual and satisfying).
IMO, the better analogy would be a cross between Twin Peaks/Silent Hill 2/Heavy Rain and Max Payne. I love how it oozes Twin Peaks-like atmosphere. Really immersive and memorable, play it.
