It's not that I completely disagree with you, Fragony, but I'm pretty sure any art critic you asked would be able to tell you the difference between acrylic, oil, and watercolor, and give examples for when it might be appropriate to use each.
But yeah, as long as a game looks appropriate (ie, supports the game without distracting), then I don't care how technically accomplished it is.

Whilst I agree with dethtoll, I think we should also note the EvaUnit has been instrumental here.
