Never have I ever... played THIS game - by Thirith

Are there games beloved by gamers and critics that you never played for some reason? Which ones? Why? And what would it take for you to give in and finally give them a chance?
Ever since Spelunky 2 came out a week or two ago, I've been keenly aware that I never played the original. It's just not spent much time on my radar. It always looked like a nice enough update of Rick Dangerous and its ilk, but I never saw anything that looked all that compelling - but then I see reviews and essays that praise Spelunky as if it was one of the modern wonders of the world. So here's my question to you: should I still play Spelunky? What makes it such an important addition to the medium? And how is the game best approached to get the most out of it?
And, obviously: do you have your own Spelunky?

I played a bit of Spelunky and realized that roguelite platfomers are not for me. Didn't like Dead Cells either. And Noita didn't keep me engaged for very long either. If you already have Spelunky then yeah, install it and give it a go. You'll probably know if it's for you in a few minutes.
I guess for me it might be Kerbal Space Program. I have it in my Steam library, and I'd probably love it and end up spending way too much time with it. I don't even wanna play it because I don't wanna add anything else to my huge pile of weird sim obsessions.

Assassin's Creed games (which is weird, because I'm obviously a stealth fan).
Borderlands
Halo (played the 1st one, I think)
I could be completely wrong, but most of these games just never seemed to have much substance to me. But hey, if someone wants to gift them to me, I'd be up for giving them a shot.

I'll go with Minecraft.
Loved building things with LEGO as a kid, have done lots of level editing and modding, but Minecraft just never interested me at all.
I guess that might be a case of having access to better / more powerful editing tools and not needing it.

While I've played most of the
Assassin's Creed games and enjoyed many of them (up to a point), I would never recommend them to anyone looking for a good stealth experience. To call the stealth systems shallow would be to give them too much credit. If you've played the
Hitman games, imagine that kind of stealth, but then take out anything that makes it even moderately interesting. Whatever the
Assassin's Creed series has going for itself, stealth ain't it.

Definitely the Souls series
Also Splinter Cell, Hitman, MGS3, Witcher 3.
I also haven't played any Fallout since Fallout 3, but could be tempted back. I'm done with Elder Scrolls though.
Another one worth mentioning is GTA. I did play a few hours of GTA 3 or San Andreas with my in-laws over a holiday (whichever was on the original Xbox). I've always wanted to buy GTA IV or V but I know I'll never have the time really explore it.
Likewise, there are multiple simulation games I would love to try, but haven't because of time.

I've never played any Rockstar games, mostly because I haven't liked the tone from what I've seen of previews and let's plays, their particular type of humour. I have been thinking about getting RDR2, though.
I also haven't played any Ubisoft game since Rayman Raving Rabbids , and I've played virtually none of the popular multiplayer games except for like 20 minutes of Fortnite.

Diablo.
I've spent years playing World of Warcraft. You'd think I would want to play the Diablo games some time. Nope. I've developed such a dislike of Blizzard, and especially their parent company Activision, that I've sworn a holy oath to never ever spend even a dime on another Blizzard or Activision product again.

100% Orange Juice. The Witcher 3. A Short Hike. Batman: Arkham Asylum/City. Amnesia. Dead Space. Guacamelee. Hacknet. Hotline Miami. Pillars of Eternity. Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun.
...I own all of those.

Fallout 3, Vegas or 4.
A friend is really into them but they just look dull af to me.
I have Dark Souls: Special Edition. I've played 30 minutes of it.
I have The Witcher. Same. 3o minutes.
And I cannot bring myself to buy and play Dishonored 2, despite liking the first one and the DLC.
