and that one thing is the question "what did I go down there for again?"

Netflix issues? I've had Netflix for a year and the turnaround time for me has always been about 3 days. Meaning if I send a movie back on a Monday I've got new movies either on Wednesday or Thursday. I thought that was pretty good. I've never had issues with availability either, but then again I watch a lot of foreign/indie rare stuff. Did I just jinx myself?

x2.
Also, I once received a cracked DVD, emailed them about it, received a response within 2 hours, and received a replacement DVD 2 days later BEFORE I even had time to send back the cracked one. Can't ask for much better than that.

If I had 3 DVDs to myself it would work purely on turnaround, but my mother gets one of them - and 2 should be more than enough, yet somehow 4 days can go by without any DVDs in the household. Grrr.

i had the same problems most of you had with netflix. i would get a movie say, today and send it on the afternoon or something, then i would get a new one next week! :-(
and blockbuster was the same thing too. at least, in a different way. say they sent a movie and arrives on Monday. i'll send it on Tuesday, but i cant clear the list of the movies i have at home because according to them it has not yet arrived. they said the movie was going to arrive later on the week, but i already received it and I'm sending it tomorrow! so I'll have to wait 2/3 days to clear it. and sometimes i had to clear the sent movie list or whatever myself because it would be "stuck" or something.
it was fun renting online. i only did it to get movies i would never get at the local video store (specially this being a small town), but neither blockbuster or netflix really worked for me. the beginnings where really awesome, everything was fast and without problems, then it got slow and just crappy. and sucks because the local blockbuster went out of business years ago too, so i couldn't use the damn coupons :-(
so thats my rant. :-)

In the end it's still cheaper for me to use Netflix than to go to the local video store, and to get some indie films and most TV shows you have to drive a ways, which doesn't work as I don't drive cars and the commute is quite possibly longer than the DVD.
