No, you can't find them at all until you're about level 20.

lol...alright, do you know where i can find Yarn?
Lytha on 11/8/2009 at 23:39
There should be a silver shortsword in the Chorrol Fighter's Guildhouse, upstairs and next to Vilena Donton's office desk. Taking it in OOO is (yet another) stolen item, so be sure to duck and hide from the NPCs when you take it. No idea if it's a theft in vanilla.
I'm quite fond of the silver dagger that my fresh character has stolen from Thoronir's basement this evening - but I am not sure if this dagger is there in vanilla or only in OOO.
Yarn can be found in random crates. Check out some basements and look into those boxes. If you shouldn't find any in the random boxes: Jensine in Imperial City's Market District has plenty of yarns in her basement, and Uuras in Skingrad has yarns all over his place too. Lesser Soul Gems lie around in all of the Mages' Guild houses, and Lettuces can be found in abundance in various houses of Leyawin.
Daedric items - in OOO, Derelict Mine has a guaranteed daedric dagger, no matter what level you are. At least, I think that it was Derelict Mine. The mine that the goblin hunting fighters' guild lunatics of Skingrad were talking about. However, if you play vanilla, you will just have to wait some more levels. Then just about every lowlife bandit will wield daedric weapons and glass armor...

You can freely take nearly all the items in the Fighter's Guild if you are a member in vanilla Oblivion.

Many thanks for your excellent help:thumb:, i managed to kill 6 ghosts in a haunt ship with a magig sword, found a yarn in that ship as well , i gave all items requested in sheograths shrine, now i´m suppose to do a quest for that shrine´s god, i had to go to a near village, spoke with a shaman, he told me about the 3 plages, my first step should be in the border watch inn, i have to accuire an excisite stinky cheese in order to atract rats, though i can´t make the owner of the inn sell me some of that cheese wich is locked on a glass box (jewel case?)...to lockpick that lock is too hard for me, is there any easier way to accquire that cheese?
PeeperStorm on 13/8/2009 at 01:22
Nope. Only way to get that cheese is to open that lock, since that's the only place in the game to find it. I suppose the innkeeper might have a key on her, but I've never bothered killing her or picking her pocket to find out. I can usually get that lock open with about 6 or 7 broken lockpicks.
If you run out of lockpicks, goblins tend to carry them for some reason.
Lytha on 13/8/2009 at 08:48
The innkeeper sleeps late at night for a few hours (between ~2am and ~5am, innkeepers normally inconvenience me by sleeping and being unwilling to sell their precious vegetables or to buy my potions of restore fatigue).
Picking her pockets for the display case key at these hours might be easier than during her working hours, because NPCs have the tendency to turn around and look at you when they're awake.
Be sure to make a quicksave before you go for it, then you can quickload when she catches you and try it again until it works.
I found the Sheogorath quest quite lacking in the "intuitive quests" department, so some more spoilers:
When you got the cheese, walk out of the inn and find the fire on top of the village's stairs. There's a cooking pot over it. Frob (mouseclick) it to put the cheese into it. This will draw a dozen rats into the village.
The rats roam around a bit and after a few seconds, the shaman Ri'Bassar will run around and put 2 pieces of "rat poison" onto the ground and initiate a dialogue with you. Then he'll go away again.
Now wait until the rats are affected by the "rat poison" item, which should happen after a couple of minutes. You'll notice they got a green glow on them after a while. Even though they'll walk around some more, they'll drop dead soon.
Go and pick up the rat poison items now.
Put either both or just one into the feeding trough of the sheep. If you keep one of the rat poisons, you can make it into a "potion of rat poison" later on, at alchemy 100... however, such a potion serves no real purpose or value. It's just a cool thing to have. Anyway, the sheep will go and feed, they'll get the green glow after a while, and they'll drop dead.
The quest ought to update shortly after this, and Sheogorath should speak to you, telling you to go to the center of the village and wait and duck.
You can ignore the "duck", but walk to the stairs and up and down until you are in the "center". You'll be frozen in cutscene mode and then the last level of the prophecy will come true.
If at any of those points of the quest something goes wrong (like, you stay frozen in cutscene mode and nothing happens after more than, say, 10 minutes), then you should reload to an earlier save and do it again.
I found it to be one of the few quests that didn't insult my intelligence by explicitly telling me exactly what to do next with a quest log pop-up window in my face.

Quest log window
and map markers. I didn't have any trouble at all with the quest the first time through. Sheogorath tells you to talk to person A, and person A tells you to talk to person B. Between the two of them you get everything you need to know.
Lytha on 14/8/2009 at 08:08
Okay, it's good for you two guys. :)
However, the OP is of the type that has to ask where to find very basic things, such as yarn and silver weapons. So, I'm quite sure that he might like or even need the extra spoilers.
