Since it happened in 1976, I feel it's ok to mention "The Last Waltz", which is rock's Crowning Moment of Awesome.
And if you happen to not agree, fuck right off.
I'll agree it's an absolute must listen to, but the title of "Rock's crowning moment" is gonna vary muchly from person to person.
Still, you gotta listen to it at least once in your lifetime, and your life is
that much incomplete if you haven't heard the performance of "I Shall Be Released" at the end of it.
So go do it now.

I'll concede that given the sheer number of guests, each having their own style, it's actually not all rock. I stand by my CMOA comment though ;) They brought in all the major players of their time and crystallized a decade of music in a single event.

Edit: Merzbow is obscure?
I went to a Merzbow club concert in 2001. He was pretty obscure then. Not to mention intense. Neither has changed much IMO.

Wasn't this thread about bad music originally? I'm listening to Iron Maiden right fucking now, and I don't mean Powerslave. Something with a 2000 something copyright. I am not ashamed.

Metallica - Ride the Lightening, trust me
you will forget everything you ever liked before July 29 in the year of the coming of a savior, 1983

And Justice For All is better.
And frankly Iron Maiden, while excellent in the 80s, didn't really come into their own until Brave New World- anybody who disagrees is clearly incapable of appreciating music.

I burn, but I'm aching for more; and the devil inside is reading the words of the saddest poem to be engraved on the stone of my grave.
I'd kill to share your pain, and sell my soul for you just to say
(chorus)
HIM <3

I had a long running bet with my mother about HIM. A few years ago she said, being as depressive as he is, he'd probably kill himself within a year. I'm still not sure if I won.

Are we both still talking about this guy and his band? (

He's not dead, he's dreeeeeamy. It's not like he really talks like that.
