I'm not in the Thieves Guild, but I need lockpicks. Can I make a score somewhere?

I got sick of always needing lock pics and picing locks so i got my self a cheap 5point sheild spell and cast it for an hour or so till my alteration was like 75 or so and got a open hard lock spell now i dont deal with it any more.

Bandits and goblins. Especially in caves.
Or just join the thieves guild...
ps. I carry about 10 lockpicks on me at all times and with a skill of 22 can open any lock I come across. Try training your ACTUAL skill with these things because it ain't that hard once you get the rhythm down. Also, check some of the shrine quests... one of em might help in this regard.

Yes, goblins. I have pulled 40+ lockpicks out of raiding a goblin infested cave.

Are you level 10 or higher?
If so, do the Nocturnal shrine quest to satiate your need for lockpicks.

Also, note some of the traders in the market district. Some of them had lockpicks, though that might have been because I sold them to the traders earlier.

A few can be enough if your good at the minigame. You just gotta figure out the right patterns of the locks coming down

I'm level two.
This is irritating. The game pretty much demands the ability to open locked chests, and yet makes lockpicks difficult to find - and also, apparently made out of crusted tissue paper. I got shit to do, chests to open, I have no lockpicks whatsoever, and I really don't feel like joining the Thieves Guild at this particular moment.
I can't say I'm too enamoured of the idea of having to play that stupid lockpicking minigame, either.

accept the minigame.
Only then shall you be perfect.
People who aren't good at the minigame don't deserve to have the contents of the chest. Just as thieves who can't kill stuff in the arena don't deserve to be champions.
