Hi all, I have recently installed SS2 after not playing it for so long and saw all the great mods that are out there to update it to the current generation. My specs are:
Intel Quad Core
Nvidia 8800 GTS 640MB
4GB RAM
Vista 64
I did a clean install of SS2, and tried to run the SSTool 2.7, everything was going smooth until it got to the DDfix part where I got a message saying it encountered a problem and needed to close. After some digging in these forums I decided to do a clean reinstall of SS2 and then manually installed the DDFix and set the .cam and .ini files to my native res (1680x1050). I then ran the SSTool this time unchecking the box for DDfix but installed everything else in that package including the widescreen mod which I configured for my native res.
I am running the SHTUP mod and the Rebirth mod which is going through the SS2 Mod Manager. When I start the game through the mod manager my display will not show up in widescreen. I have exited out of the game and checked the ini and cam files that I manually installed previously and they are showing my native resolution. Anyone know what's going on and how to fix this?

When you say that your display won't show in widescreen, are you talking about during actual gameplay, or are you referring to the menu?
I ask because even if you have the widescreen mod properly configured, the menu will not be in widescreen format because of how it is coded. Even if the game is showing widescreen, the menu will not.

You know it might be my eyes are just used to playing the high resolution fancy graphics of the current generation and I just can't see that it's in my native res, but to answer your question yes I'm aware that it's lower res in the menu and higher ingame.
Can anyone post screenshots of when the game first starts in 1680x1050 so I can compare. It is very possible I am just crazy but I honestly think it is still in low res.

A good way to check is to just start a game, and then without taking a step, look forward and take a screenshot. Then quit, install the Widescreen mod, go back in and take another screenshot. Then compare.
