It says that the unistall shield program that thief 2 comes with is running, but it isnt any suggestions on how to make the computer realize that the unistall shield isnt still running?????

Hmmm... I don't know what that could be. I don't recall hearing this one before.
What are your full system specs, please, and what else is happening? Is the game playing anyway, or is it not installing at all? Describe everything that's happening in detail, please.

What happens when you reboot? I've got Vista too, Thief 2 works fine. Give it a reboot, let us know.

Logging in as administrated doesnt work nor would it ever it is a process in the background that is pretending to run, not the clearence with my status.
So I thought to myself i need this proccess to stop running in the background!!!!
I installed it in safe mode...I think that from here on out anyone installing thief 2 needs to do it in safe mode.... IT SOLVES ALL YOUR PROBLEMS!!!!
A word of advice :ebil:

Oddly--and it's not brought up too often--some people claim to have installed the games successfully without any tricks, tweaks, modifications, or any fuss whatsoever. I'd like to know why it worked smoothly for them, and how we could make that possible for the rest of us!

I wonder if there's still time to tell my ex-wife...
Honey, let's start it again in safe mode! :laff:
Anyway, that's great, Bishop. I'll keep it in mind.
