So I waited in the room behind the curtains wearing ce invis. One gurad walk in and whispers under his breath at the door to the queens chambers.."Hmm,, maybe she is out for a walk" or something like that. So I killed him. Another gurad in the room attacked me for this so I killed him too. I assume they were both the assasins. But when I go back to speak to the king he doesnt acknowldge that the quest is complete and his number one is angy at me for killing the two gards.
Can anyone help with this part? Thanks

Don't kill the guards.
If you wait behind the screens in her anteroom, eventually you'll get a Journal Update and it will become very clear what your next objective is.
I went there right after the king told me to, and simply used T to wait the appropriate length of time. What was it - "tomorrow night"? It was about 5 pm when he told me, so I waited 24 hours, then another 3. The script for the next event, as well as the Journal Update, will pull you out of whatever Wait you're in.

I waited till 6pm so i guess i miised the journal entry.

I can't seem to get the script to trigger, though I think I've done the rest right - close both doors, get behind the screen (including trying to jam myself into the corner of the screen and wall), wait until the next night, wait through that evening on Wait (and I've tried waiting in real-time too. :P )
What am I doing wrong? If all else fails, is there a script-setting console command to set off this event?

Ha, I had this same problem! Did you talk to Queen Barenziah? She needs to know what's going on. After you talk to her about it she'll tell you to get ready. Then you should sleep for 24 hours (or longer.) Don't worry about missing the journal entry, you'll be awakened when they come in.

Thanks, guys! Talking to the Queen didn't help, waiting 48 hours failed, so I triggered the script. It worked. :)
