Hey guys, I can't seem to become the leader of either House Redoran or the Fighters Guild. I've dont litteraly EVERY mission up to the point either of them will give me new quests. In the Fighter's Guild I am not getting promoted to the rank that I need to be to initiate the final stage of the Fighter's Guild quest and become it's leader. Also, in House Redoran, I am up to getting the Caldera Mines shut down, but the councilor never recognizes it. In the time I've waited I've already complete the entire main quest! Can someone tell me the commands to get these guys to bump me up or am I just not high enough in level(character is level 24 or around it). Help is appreciated.

Have you checked the Preferred Skills section of the two factions? Is each of your required skills above the level necessary to allow advancement?

i think you have to finish the quests for all of the redoran houses and fighters guild's. such as the balmora 1, and the vivec 1, and the 1's in all the other cities.

Preferred skills? Where is that? And no, you dont have to do all the quests from each person, you just need a certain rank to unlock the final quest to take leadership of the guild. I'm prety sure the problem with the Fighter's Guild is simply my skill level, since i came back from Solstheim to find out I had been finally promoted once in the fighter's guild. Still didn't get any response from the Redoran Councillor about the mines though, and as far as I know I've lawfully killed litteraly everyone at the mine except the slaves, whom I've freed, as well as killed everyone in the Governors hall. I have also grabbed the Mining ledger or something close that has the evidence in it and he has not yet accepted that either..

I think there was a thread about this same thing a while back... Try searching the forums for it. I can't really help though, sorry :(

Re: Caldera, this is definitly a bug; if you freed the kitty-slave in the Caldera mining camp early, you break the quest. Check here for a link that shows how to fix it.
As for the Fighters' Guild, if you kill the corprus beast in a shop in Sadrith Mora early then you skip some of the quests from SM's Fighters Guild... but if you do all of the 'good' quest givers, the 1st few from Eyrdis Fire-Eye (sp?) in Balmora, and the 1st few from the orc in Vivec's Fighters' Guild, then you can get just enough quests to get the final quests from Ald-Ruhn's quest giver.
Edit: Oh, and as to Preferred Skills for the Fighters Guild, right-click to the Menu mode, scroll down alllllll the way down on the upper-left pane, and hover your mouse (or whatever) over the "Fighters Guild" entry.

Could you be a little more specific with the preferred skills part, Im not sure what you mean by menu mode.. And I checked the site you posted, and I think I posted above that I have litteraly killed EVERYONE off involved with the Cladera Mine and he still wont respond, im going to try to force the game to let me in using the journal index thing..

When I did the Caldara mine, I did it by freeing the slaves there. That's enough to shut it down. I don't think you can do the quest by killing everyone... :erg:

Prior to killing everyone I had freed all the slaves. In my journal it states that I have freed the slaves and the mine should be shut down for a while, but he wont respond at all.

Your journal says that and he still doesn't respond...? Hmmm... not good.
