Looks like another scam remaster, barely looks any different to the old PC version. At least it includes (
https://nfs.fandom.com/wiki/Need_for_Speed:_Hot_Pursuit_(2010)/Downloadable_Content) the DLC that never made it to PC the first time around.

Supposed enhanced features:-
Quote:
Remaster includes higher-resolution models, more objects and props, longer draw distance, higher resolution shadows, improved videos, upressed UI, higher resolution reflections, boosted textures, more particles, and improved AA/SSAO.
(
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1328660/Need_for_Speed_Hot_Pursuit_Remastered/) Steam version requires Origin. Double the DRM if you choose to buy it there.

also, yeah, I literally can't tell which is the remaster in that clip.
Obviously the remaster is the one with the extra lens flare. If the oncoming traffic at 2:18 wasn't making rainbows, the whole game would look awful.
Porsche 2000 was easily the best NFS game that I played. I'd love to see a remake of that one for modern systems.

Yeeeees. Porsche 2000 was the only good NFS game. Ok, the original was pretty fun too.
NFS Payback was in the PS+ this month so I suppose I'll give it a whirl, but I'm not expecting much.

Hot Pursuit 2 (2003) on PS2/Xbox was very good too.

I liked the first four games the best. The original is still my favorite, but I've probably spent the most time playing High Stakes. The series started out more like a sim, and then increasingly turned to arcade-style racing. I did not like Porsche very much and it was downhill from there IMHO.
I can't imagine why someone would put in the effort to re-do the graphics of the 2010 game. The graphics were fine for the purpose the first time.

I'd be into a Porsche Unleashed remaster, dunno wtf the point of this is.

A low effort cash grab. Likely minimal investment, potentially noticeable return.

I booted up NFS Payback today, saying to myself "this is gonna suck" and y'know what, I was right.
Then I fired up Forza Motorsport 7, which was just added to XBox Game Pass, aaaaaaand it's great! I kinda wish I'd grabbed Forza Horizon 3 before they took it off the store a while back since I do prefer open world racing to racers where you're confined to a track tho.

The best part of NFS Payback was the coked out Youtuber who presented it at E3 that year. Peak E3 cringe.

RIP E3, another victim of mistress Corona-chan.
