Ok, now I've trapped a golden saint and a winged twighlight and I am afraid to use them. I was thinking about enchanting my armor but its mostly orcish and dwermer. I would like to upgrade my armor so I don't want to enchant it just to find better armor tomorrow. I bought some exquisite clothing because I saw a few posts about enchanting clothing. Is this really the smartest use of my grand soul gems?

The smartest use of a single (golden saint) grand soul gem... wow what a subject!
I'd probably suggest creating a constant affect item for sure but beyond that its up to you. If you believe you wont be getting another golden saint soul for a while enchant a ring or amulet - leave the clothes and armour enchantment combos till you have a lot of money and the ability to get the souls and gems needed. In regards to what you should enchant it with i can only advise you picking something you know will come in very handy like constant restore fatigue, levitation, water breathing, night eye, or combinations of the above. (I once created a constant affect water breating and night eye amulet which came in quite handy...)

You said a mouthful, Red; quite a topic, indeed :wot:
The amulet I usually run around with is a water-walking one, as about a third of the game seems to revolve around island-hopping to distant locations. Those, with the Boots of Blinding speed, make transportation very easy and free of annoyance (except for Sheogorad, there are very few cliff racers over the ocean) Even more fun is that the majority of 'swimming' monsters seem to spawn close to the surface... which makes 'em an easy kill with a spear.
As with everything in this game, it's a personal choice; YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary)

Water breathing and night eye i could understand using as a constant effect, but levitate and water walking i think are only being restrictive. Levitate is seriously slow unless you spend ALOT of points on the enchantment for a constant effect. And Water walking is keeping you from reaching some parts of caves that are neccessary for completing many quests, so you would have to take them off to go swimming. I think levitate and water walking should be kept as utility spells to be used as needed. Everything else in your equippable inventory should have constant effects like fortify attributes, restoring fatigue and health, water breathing, night eye, jump, telekenisis, and swift swim.
If i only had one lonely soul gem, i would say that i would use it with a Daedric Katana and a damage health 47 points on strike. Or a constant effect water breathing or night eye. All i can say is get azura's star as soon as possible and do a few mage guild quests and talk to a mage in Caldera and buy lots and lots of Summon Golden Saints. Then enchant to your hearts desire.
