And a kill phrase is a type of kill switch.
No it's not. A killphrase is a couple of cryptic words, whereas a killswitch is probably some big lever in a hightech lab, with men in labcoats and clipboards. And there's some glass you have to smash to get to it, and maybe a few red buttons with "DANGER! DO NOT PRESS!11" written on them. Then you have to turn a key at the same time as someone else to lower it. Then a siren goes off when you pull the switch and the red emergency-lights start flashing, and a big digital countdown starts. I wasn't being serious; yes, I missed the bit where he mentioned the killphrase in his previous post.

Calm down kids, you'll inflict a heart attack on Elenkis or Eberon. (do they even exist?)
So many posts in such a short time :tsktsk:

Nonono. Lol. What i am asking is there other ways to kill Navare. I mean i alwasy kill her in the subway. Gunther i alwasy kill in Paris. And paul always dies. Yet the other day i was reading this walkthrough thing and it showed paul alive in the MJ12 secret facility and Navare blowing up with a kill switch and gunther too. I was really confused but i get it now after reading though the site. i guess i alwasy played as a sniper, killing everyone and i mean everyone, but right now i am trying this stealthy avoid thing that semes to be so popular on this forum. Hey i havent played DX multiplayer, is it any good? And i want to know is it possible to upgrade all of your augs or is there not eunough upgrade canisters cause i only found 14 throughout the game. And is there an easier way to get full skill points than that guy ontop of the sub base after you save his daughter? And sorry, one final noob question what is the best skill build for stealth? Thankx guys.....or girls.....or whoever you are. :) Jim
If you choose not to kill Navarre by force, you can still discover her kill-phrase if you search for it. hint:
Hack the computers in the UNATCO facility as you escape the MJ12 labs. You should find information regarding the kill phrases. I think Navarre's computer and Joseph Manderley's computer have the information.
Deus Ex Multiplayer is incredibly fun, but unfortunately, the days of 16-player games with kickass maps are over. I created an Installer for ...almost every Deus Ex multiplayer map ever released (although I know there are a few still out there). If you want it, it's 320 MB and unzips to about 1 GB. You will need the most recent patch to install it (version 1112fm of Deus Ex). If you have a BitTorrent client, you can download the .torrent file (
http://helixes.dyndns.org:8080/Deus_Ex_Maps_and_Mods_Archive_Installer_v1.01.exe.torrent) HERE. If the link doesn't work, PM me and I'll send you a direct-link. You really need to learn how to configure your Keyboard settings if you want to play Multiplayer (a.k.a. DXMP) effectively. Right now, the most active server (which is killing DXMP) is the [GODZ] clan server. I feel stained by even mentioning it here. Don't ever play in that server, if you want a true taste of DXMP. Learning how to play DXMP well is something the elites will tell you takes a lot of time.
The best singleplayer Aug setup for stealth, I'd say is probably something like this:
Combat Strength (instead of microfibril muscle)
Run Silently (instead of speed)
Aqualung (instead of Environmental Protection... either way though)
Vision (instead of Targeting)
Cloak (instead of Radar Transparency)
Spy Drone (instead of Aggressive Defense System)
Healing (instead of Energy Shield)
Power Recirculator (instead of synthetic heart)
...Although Spy Drone is "stealthier," I think ADS is still a better choice.
Environmental Resistance is also slightly more practical, since you can find rebreathers almost every time you need one.
Combat Strength is far, far underrated by people. With a combat knife (and later, the Dragon's Tooth Sword), it's deadly. You can smash some locked doors and turrets and cameras with a high Low-Tech skill (same with Master rifle skills - At that skill level, the sniper rifle will destroy turrets/cameras too). And the Dragon's Tooth Sword (DTS) won't bring as many enemies because of noise.
I haven't counted the Augmentation Upgrades, but I don't think you can upgrade everything to maximum. But you can come pretty close by the end of the game.
As for getting infinite skill points, that's cheating. If you know that Gary Savage bug, and exploit it, that's cheating. You might as well just type in the cheats code at that point. Where's the fun in that? *sigh* If you really must know another way to get infinite skill points, without actually typing in the cheat functions, you can get skillpoints in Vandenberg. At the bottom of the staircase, where the first Bot-Bay power backup generator is located, you find the keypad. You can either enter the code (5868, which the woman on the roof gives you), or you can bypass it with a multitool. Then you need to edit your Keyboard settings to make the "Enter" key be "Use Object In World." Then you can put a book on your "Enter" key and walk away from your computer. Every time you "Use Object" repeatedly on the keypad, it will give you skillpoints. Technically, you can just keep typing 5868 if you prefer not to bypass it, but if you bypass it, you can just get up and make a sandwich and wait for it to pump your skill points, instead of typing 5-8-6-8 into the keypad several hundred times.
You can prevent Paul from being killed by making sure that when UNATCO and the MiB raid the apartment, that you do NOT leave the 'Ton hotel by the window. It can be a hard fight, and Paul may disappear on you, but make your way to the front door of the 'Ton hotel, then to the subway station. Paul will tell you the code to the subway. You will know if Paul lived by the reaction of Miguel in the MJ12 prison. If Miguel says "You're definitely not the only prisoner. I heard voices down the hall." then Paul is alive. If not, you'll need to reload and do the whole 'Ton escape fight again.

"Thankx" just blows my mind though. It's exactly as many letters as "thanks", so it's like the the "x" is in there purely out of spite.

Also, don't install ballistic protection or EMP shield: then you can install both cloak AND radar transparency. Yes, there are enough cannisters to do it. The second is in a partially flooded room in vandenberg, I think.

Ok um....thanks guys (not the no "x"). Again this is my first time in a forum and i am typing with a broken wrist so please excuse any mistakes and/or slang, i will make an attempt not to use it any loger. Well thanks for all the tips and hints i am doing way better but i think i screwed up my augs. I chose microfiber, aqua lung, and junp/run thing. I was kinds following that walkthrough. Well it is neat however to have played the first 5 missions without killing anyone (its new for me usualy i blow everyone away). But thanks again for all the tips and if you think of anything else let me know. As for multiplayer i don't have DX on a computer with internet so i will have to wait for a bit before i try it. Once again thanks all.

Ok guys i have a new problem. Its the lebedev assassination. I usualy always just frag him but this time i tried not to. First off i just left. Manderly got all pissed. Then i tried to shot Anna just until death, she runs away and i get the full story form Lebedev. However when i go to the helepad Gunter tells me that he wants to kill Leby but i tell him Anna already did. Is there a way to get a win win situation where Leby lives?

Yes. There is.
You can kill Anna in the 747. If you want the super-easy way, you can just grab the GEP gun from one of the security towers (near the elevator by the helipad) and when Anna comes to tell you to "finish the job" you can just plant a GEP round at her feet. Lebedev won't die in the explosion.
ZylonBane on 29/6/2005 at 19:59
Pfft, the super-super easy way is to just poke Anna in the back of the neck with your knife. One swipe and she's down. It's weird.
Jim on 29/6/2005 at 20:58
Ok but is there a way to get Leby and Navarra to live?
