Narnia - Prince Caspian rated M in Australia for 'Frequent battle violence' - by Tintin

I know Prince Caspian is darker but this rating is surprising, but then it may have something to do with the OFLC (Office of Film and Literature Classification) getting tougher on violence then they were in the past.
Prince Caspian is rated M for 'Frequent battle violence'.
Eragon (while terrible) was rated M for 'Moderate fantasy violence'.
The M rating indicates that the movie is 'recommended for mature audiences 15 and over.' (Americans - the rating fits somewhere between a strong PG-13 and a mild R rating).
Both movies are rated PG in the US.
I'm guessing The Last Battle will get an MA15+ rating then? (lol)

Yes yes I have to say I agree here with OFLC here this film is despicable and belongs up there with that scene out of harry potter where bambi dies

Bambi doesn't die, nor is he in Harry Potter.
But yes, an M rating is suitable for Prince Caspian.

Amazingly, despite being on a budget of about a hundred quid and being made at a time when drawing on the lens with a felt tip was considered the zenith of special effects wizardry, the old BBC version of Narnia pisses all over this overbaked hollywood crap. Why the fuck was santa claus wearing a red leather bondage outfit, for one? Why were they trying to make a childrens story as weighty and noble and po-faced as medal of honour? Why should I bother to watch the next one?

I just saw the new one today and felt it was a lot worse than the first one.
It was ok initially but worsened as the (144 minute) show went on and concluded with an unsatisfying ending. The movie spent a number of scenes foreshadowing things that never really went anywhere and also seemed confused about what messages it was trying to convey. The last big scene rips a lot off LOTR as well :nono:
