Name your single favorite PC-exclusive game released between 2000 and 2009 - by paganinio

- Limited to PC-exclusive games, just to make us feel good to be PC gamers.;) It's okay if the game has a Mac version, just to make Mac gamers feel at home. ;)
- System Shock 2 does not qualify, since it was released in 1999 (North America). It may have been released in 2000 in some countries.
- You can search for a game title on MobyGames.com to find out whether it is PC-exclusive.
- I posted this on the System Shock forum, because I'm interested in our tastes in gaming. Do we SS fans tend to enjoy darker games? More complex games? More depth? We'll see.

I've always been thinking about System Shock 1 as my favourite PC game, but that doesn't count. Half-Life is a most played, which also doesn't count.
As a more recent contestant, I would choose S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl + Call of Pripyat.

Almost an entire decade is entirely too large a span of time to pick a single favorite game. Bloody hell, Thief II, Deus Ex, Anachronox, and Psychonauts all fall in that span!
I'm just going to go with Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, because that's my current obsession.

My all time favourite game is System Shock, but that's from 1994. I won't consider the Championship Manager/Football Manager series, since that's a different genre (but they are in fact the games I spend most time playing). So my choice from 2000 to 2009 is probably also S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow Of Chernobyl.

I'd say Homeworld, because as far as I'm concerned, it's one of the greatest games of all time. But it was released in '99.
And I'd say PoP: Sands of Time, but it wasn't an exclusive. And neither was Psychonauts, hrm.
I love Thief II plenty, and Deus Ex, but they don't strike as much of an emotional chord in me as the above.
So... yep. It's gotta be Mafia.*
*Disregarding the utter tosh that was its console port. Which shouldn't have even existed to begin with.

Playboy: The Mansion.

Hmm. Thief II I suppose, but like ZB said, it's a pretty large span of time to pick just one from.

I guess Deus Ex.
Thief 2, Anachronox, Vampire Bloodlines, IL-2 1946, Shogun Total War (prob only b/c I lived in Japan or it would have been another Total War), Operational Art of War 3, GTA3 are all up there (Mirror's Edge isn't PC exclusive).

Playboy: The Mansion.
I would have gone with that too but unfortunately it's not a PC exclusive as it was released for PS2 and XBOX.
As psychonauts is also eliminated by the same criteria I'll have to go for Anachronox. It's visually dated, the combat is the standard jRPG format and the first half is a bit too slow paced. However, for developing empathy with the characters, revealling the story and for the
emergency parole button it wins hands down.
