suppose person A dislikes thing 1, and person B says person A is just mad because they don't have the talent to make something like thing 1.
another way of putting it is someone asserting that you aren't in a position to say a rock song sucks because let's see YOU do it.
does this fallacy have a name? any logical people out there to help me?

Things of this type are a "False Premise".
These are based on a false assumption. Unless there is proof that A is incabable of doing it, B is acting on a lack of information or factual data.
A might well very be able to do it, if not now then perhaps in the future.
B is avoiding the main issue by turning the subject of the topic to a different area, towit: whether or not A has the commensurate skills to perform the act, which has nothing to do with the merits (or lack thereof) of the opinion that a certain type of music sucks.
There is a better phrase that eludes me at the moment. Something on the order of a "Rhetorical" or "Academic" question or similar descriptive word.
False premise is the best I can do at the moment. I'll think on it.

perhaps if i gave you some context that might help.
version 2.0 of the killing floor mod for UT2K4 was released today. i loved 1.0, despite its bugs, so i quickly downloaded the 200mb 2.0.
unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. so i posted a comment on their moddb site detailing why i did not like 2.0. the mod leader, a real asshole, gets mad at me, and flames me on my personal page. i basically told him to learn to accept criticism, because what i had given was constructive criticism. however, i am apparently in the minority because everyone else seems to love it.
his reply? "I'm through trying to explain myself to shit disturbers or whiners who like trying to get arise out of people who they know have talent they will never have."
pff. my creative strength is in writing, not modding, but when something is prohibitively problematic i'm going to say so. (the worst of it, probably, is the way when holding a mere pistol you walk at a snail's pace like it's 400lbs, compared to a knife where you can walk at normal walking speed, which is a direct, unrealistic contradiction to the whole concept of "realism" the mod tries to have, which also involves removing all traces of a HUD just to make it even less fun. if i want that kind of realism i'll go play red orchestra.)

This has very little to do with logic in my eyes, it's a simple case of the mod-leader's inability to accept criticism (hence my earlier comment). What you've said in reply is perfectly reasonable and justification enough, unless - of course - your criticism was along the lines of: lol this sucks. It only works if you had valid complaints, as it seems you have, and they were worded in a non-antagonistic fashion.

This fallacy is so common it might not even have a name. I propose we name it the Welcome to the Internet fallacy.
