Here's a new One for me, others may have seen it.
When you go back to Unatco HQ after the
Battery/Warehouse Mission. Go to manderleys office
he's in a meeting with Simons. After the meeting finishes
follow simons down into the prison cell for the interogation.
Mid way through the interrogation attack simons (with cheats on
you could prod him) anyway once the fight starts theNSF make a
run for it but cant leave the door. Go over to the door to let them out,
Once they get out they run down the cooridor before dropping
dead when they cross the Yellow/black stripey line.
At first I assumed they had been shot, but I had already taken
care of the unatco troops and there are no Automated turrets.
It seems they just drop dead because they crossed that line.
Some kind of Unatco security device (like the kill switch) or
just part of game you're not supposed to see?

The history of mankind is a history of breaking the limits. Men were always restricted by borders and frontiers. Men broke one after another.
But there are lines that are not meant to be crossed...

And I thought that was just a rant...
I'll be more careful where i step as I continue through the game.

Here's a screenshot of this level from UnrealEd:
Inline Image:
http://users.ox.ac.uk/~worc1588/damtrig.jpgYou don't really need any special knowledge of UnrealEd to work this out. The switch thing highlighted green is something called a 'DamageTrigger', which does what it says on the box: applies damage when something steps into a certain radius. In this case, the damage is enough to cause instant death, and the radius means it is just over the yellow and black line. As you can see, it acts on 'DeusEx.Terrorist', which is what the prisoners are (thus why it does not harm Simons, the UNATCO guards, or yourself).
So you weren't imagining it. The reason for this? No idea. To prevent the script breaking? A storyline idea that never came to fruition? A temporary measure that was never removed? Could be anything.

It's from me.
I just thought it would sound much like many film intro's...

Just a thought, what would happen if I took Miguel to this part of the base???
ferret on 21/12/2002 at 20:41
I don't know. I doubt it's there on that map.
