My wife says I am an idiot. Yes it is true. I do not care. - by bjack

Purgator, my wife tried looking the up but could not get further back than people arriving in the US. Some came over before the potato famine, but long after the American Revolutionary War - maybe around 1820?. They were relatively wealthy, since they all bought fairly big farms and houses in New Jersey. Cavanaugh (might be with an "e" spelling?), Brennan, Costello. Before we go, I will try to look up where they came from. Could be anywhere though.
BTW - I like everyone's contributions to this silly thread. Some good stuff.

I briefly read that exchange as:
"What part of Ireland does your wife's family come from..."
"Purgatory..."
Which, if you've ever met any really severe Irish Catholics, is pretty amusing.

Thanks for the catch. Corrected. And yes, it was funny. I did not catch the autocorrect. Being really sloppy today. Considering her lack of mass going, she may come from Purgatory. It sure would explain a lot.
