Once you've enabled the option in the ini file the screenshots will be saved in the directory you installed Oblivion into, and yes, a message will appear on screen what a screenshot has been taken.
The ini file you should be editing is My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\oblivion.ini as the one in the install directory is used as a default in case the game cannot find your personal one.

I've always had trouble and to this day can't take screenshots with printscreen, even with both ini's enabled and set as read only. FRAPS is much easier, all things considered.

It's a long story how I found it, but I just liked it and so it's on my desktop... Have no idea which game it is...:o :)

Thanks. It may sound silly but I want to play whatever it is because of this only screemshot... As the old saying goes,
