My Telvanni stronghold... Can it get no bigger? - by Slith

Well I've become a Telvanni Master finally at level 33... or was 36, bah that no matter.
Of course NOW that I finished everything my original patron Master Aryon gave me to do, I realize I should'nt have jumped at the chance to advance to Master... Because now he's offering to advance me to Magistrate-the problem, I cant because I've become a Master with a mouth and such. I got angry and went and killed the current Magistrate... some guy with two dremoras as guards, but I made short work of them.
Anyway, If I advance to magistrate (It would be helpful f you could tell me how... or if I'm screwed) would my house get any bigger? I mean sure having a dungeon and some bed chambers is nice... but there's no study room for me to place Dwemer artifacts I find. And its a little cramped when I try to get to my bed chambers on the top floor. (Of course that cramped feeling comes with 'all' Telvanni houses). Oh and my Dwemer guards... if they die, do they Regenerate and/or Respawn?
Is it possible to get more then four houses around the my tower? And how do I hire guards? (REAL Telvanni guards-none of them Dwemer ones-though I wouldnt mind more...) And what the hell's'posed to be in my dungeon? other then that body I was a little disapointed in finding no guards... or any monsters for that matter.
Anyone know of a good Dwemer ruin? preferrably one withought Vampires, (Though they sure aren't very powerful :) ) I'd like to get some more Dwemer books-and plans for other artifacts, and I would like to get some good Dwemer armor. I was reading a book in the game And I found that most of the armor-or so it says in the book. Is mismatched and peiced together from different things... finding a whole set would be great!
Is there also a faster way then walking to get to my Stronghold Tel Uvirith? currently I use my recall spell, but during quests I find it helps so much more if I could use my Mark and Recall for other things. As I'm constantly on the prowl for a Dwemer ruin that I can loot- and it would help if I could make more then one trip...
(Using my current method I stash everything I find of value around where I'm gonna teleport from, then pick it all up and use either my Alimsivi Amulet or my Divine Intervention amulet. That way I can get to Balmora... more often then naught anyway. where I happen to have my 'stolen' houses. I got so much stuff that I had to kill a couple merchants in order to pack it somewhere.)
But yes, sorry for going off topic-If I stick around long enough you'll notice I do it alot :cheeky:
So to fill you in a bit more on my Stronghold, Hleneru Hlana or whater the Telvanni Stronghold Builders name is, says that my Stronghold is complete... but I'm a little disappointed with how few guard and villagers I have, how's a bout the list of people at my tower:
4 Villagers-they live in houses around my Tower... I haven't checked lately But I dont beleive 'ANY' of them sell any goods *sigh*
3 Dwemer Sphere Centurions-Essentially all that consists of my Tower guard. One was inside but he kept trying to go up and down the hallways, and it was starting to piss me off because I couldnt get around so I used Master Aryon's Glove of Domination, and damn does that thing ever take a looong time to recharge (I dont make a habit of capturing Scrib souls...) Anyway I brought the thing outside and waited the two minutes it took to wear off. That glove is an excellent thing if your in over your head! taking control of a creature for two minutes sure can help you, mind they have to be level 15 or less, and you can only use it twice before it needs recharging. It's also effective at getting into places or stealing things you normally wouldnt get because you can move people that arn't weighted down to different areas... so prehaps that guard over there is to close to that trapdoor with the level 40 lock on it... no problem cause you can move them away :) I also lured several people into the water... You should use a water breathing spell though if your gonna stay down there long enough to kill them.
1 Steam Centurion-my only effective guard... And even then it's not all that good. I just wish I could get more powerful working artifacts to serve me... and that mettalic scarab I've only seen the plans for it... Edwinna in ald'ruhn asked to take a look at one of my Dwemer books - Dwemer Amunipula or something like that - And she then mentioned about having a working centurion anyday now... also mentioned a name some partner perhaps... unfortunetly for me I then talked about advancing to Archmaster of the guild And took on trebonis (I really didnt want to kill him :( but he gave me no choice so I sent my lackey Atronachs after him not knowing that he was so weak... he hit me once, what a shame :( ) So anyway back to this person Edwinna was talkin about... If you can tell me i think it started with an O, I would be pretty grateful.
Hey anyone know if I can get a Shock centurion like Baladus or somesuch has in Gnisis?
And does anyone know if I can summon other types of Centurions other then the Sphere Centurion?
Sorry for all the questions... but I have to ask. (I'm curious-probably why I died so often when I was a lower level...
*Oh! whats in this place? :erg: -Inscription: Reloths Ancenstral Tomb- :D well cant hurt to take a peek, now can it...? "creeeaak" Wow, pretty dark in here... whats that reddish glowing stuff over there? :o KABOOM!! :nono: Drat! A fireball!*
-Reloading last saved game.

I really shouldn't forget things like that... Will I be punished?

Lessee if I can nail all of these...
1) No, the "getting some centurions" stage is the last one. You can, of course, use the editor to make a place that looks however you like, staffed with whatever tickles your fancy. Oh, and if you advance to 'Magister' then you can advance to 'Arch-Magister' and get reputation bonuses w/ all Telvanni. Might make it easier to get Hortator as well, later on.
2) Dwemer ruins are marked on the map... beyond listing out the ruins that Edwinna sends you to, which I'm fairly certain you've cleared out given what you say, your best option is either raiding Aryon's Dwemer collection in Tel Vos or just raiding all the various Dwemer ruins.
2a) As to a 'complete' suit of Dwemer armor per that book, I haven't seen any or seen any mention of any on here, but it's theoretically possible. I don't believe it'd be a great thing though, as that'd mean you couldn't mix-n-match the more powerful items in (boots of blinding speed, mask of Clavicus Vile, etc.)
3) I don't know a fast way to get to any of the House strongholds shy of making a door/NPC/etc. that teleports you to 'em.
On an aside, it makes it easier for the replier if you number your questions; I don't think I missed anything, but if I did, lemme know?

I've got an Xbox so I cant really edit stuff... but If I get morrowind on compooter does that meean I could build my own Giganticly humongous Telvanni Tower complete with dozens of Dwemer machines!?
Hey can you list all the types of Dwemer artifact creatures? and what they do? where they can be found? Or even bettter-Show me some pictures of them all?
Master Aryon has a Dwemer collection!? Is it hidden in those other towers? I tried going through once before, but I was low level and encoutered one scamp to many...
Which would you recommend to me... Xbox Morrowind or Computer Morrowind? I prefer using controllers instead of a mouse-all the controls fit into your hands, but does the computer version suppoort such things?
Kilana on 11/7/2002 at 04:47
Computers do have controllers, you have to buy them separetly...
Tel vos has a museum of dwemer stuff and of imperial stuff... central tower.
Nothin special about the dwemer artifacts, goblets, bowls, tubes, cogs, some blueprints... Aryon's museum does have a full set of dwemer armor and dwarven weapons, but they are pretty easy to find anyways.
And computer>xbox... why you ask?
Better graphics...
You can take screenshots to show off...
Bethseda will update pc version with patches and plugins, no updates are planned for xbox...
Lots of good plugins are being made by other players to be used with the pc version...
console and editor allow for easy debugging(or cheating, if you prefer)...
There's more, but I that should be enough to convince you.
Slith on 11/7/2002 at 05:19
Ok You convinced me

1) Yup, if you get it for the PC you can build just about whatever you can imagine. May take some time for complex scripting, and some functions just don't exist, but anything you've seen in the game can be easily replicated.
2) As to dwemer artifact creatures, "sphere", "steam", and "spider" centurions are the standard ones; there's about half a dozen others, but most of them are just copies used for specific quests. As to images, et. al., what, are you gonna pay me my usual hourly rates? ;) Otherwise, go find 'em yourself, lazybones ;)
3) Aryon's collection is in one of the towers, yup; try the central one.
4) XBox vs. PC: It's really your call; on the PC, you have the console (to fix things when you get quests screwed up, or to free you if you get stuck in walls or if NPCs get stuck in the middle of a doorway), expanded playability (mods, official plugins, etc.) and in addition to the usual controls you can quickly hit the 1-0 number keys to activate items/spells/etc. with no pause for loading a quick-key menu. On the other hand, w/ the XBox you have a little more stability (due to standardised hardware), I suspect it's probably faster than on the average PC (for the same reason) and you get a controlset that you're familiar with. Me, I'm happy w/ it on the PC.
Edit: Bugger.... didn't realise there was more below Slith's 3rd posting...

I think I'll be able to get morrowind on Computer today... Thanks for the great help, I went through the entire thing on building worlds in morrowind... seems simple enough. Maybe you'll be downloading some mods I hope to be creating soon... :cheeky:
