After returning somewhat unimpressed by Bioshock Infinite's 1999 mode, I dusted off my old copy of SS2 and tried a full psi run. Well, first I completed the game normally to memorize stuff, and then had the run. I never tried a full psi run, even though I always played OSA a dozen years ago: I always mixed up utility spells, and guns.
So I played with no guns, no melee and no hacking (but I did use the psi hack). I saved up on psi hypos by dodging enemies whenever possible and ignoring buffs, but I still explored as much as any player would. I found out that the only part where I seriously risked running out of psi, was in between Engineering B and Hydroponics A: as to say, right before being able to hack a replicator for cheap hypos.
Also did some mistakes, such as forgetting about the med\sci armory, not noticing the powered armor until later, and trying too hard to save on psi by not buying Localized Pyrokinesis which is a must in Engineering. All things considered, I think you actually keep your psi points higher if you ignore hacking and crates (unless you know exactly which ones contain psi hypos). By the time I got to Deck 4 with Invisibility and the Recycler, difficulty dropped to zero.

Nice! Yes, I used SHTUP and Four Hundred.
