My PC is dying - or at least the graphics card is more dead than alive - by gnartsch

You might be right that my system won't push it to its limits.
From my own research it appeared like the 750Ti would not provide all that much more performance than my old 460 (R.I.P.). Just 20% maybe.
But my old one was breathing sooo hard when playing Thief 2014 at lowest resolution and still constantly overheated although it was not even overclocked.
I'll be happy with my new 960 idling while I enjoy the silence. I fired up Thief 2014 just for a test and set it to the highest settings and I have not heard the fans so far. Great!

* keep your old card for spare electronic parts (fan, connectors, capacitors, cooler) if you have the storage space.
* which 960 did you get in the end..?

I did stick to the ASUS Strix till the end.
I didn't consider it worth the hazzle to send the stuff back.
Keep the old one? Sure. Just in case. It's not dead. Just severely braindamaged. But good enough to see something if you must.
You need some 386 parts, huh? I think I still have some pieces left, although I cleared up most of the stuff when I moved last year.
Parting is not easy and should not be taken lightly.:cheeky:
