I dunno what's causing the guards to not show up properly ingame, but it's annoying. Other than using the patch, I'm not doing anything different. I've got mods installed I've used a thousand times before, and I've never seen this happen.
So is this common? And how can I go about fixing it? It's totally ruining the immersive experience that is Oblivion.

The game does that when it can't find (or can't use) the model for an object, so I'd guess that there's a problem with the guards' models, maybe a corrupt file or something. Might need to reinstall to fix it.

I just figured it out two seconds ago. Turns out I grabbed and installed the Obscuro's Overhaul patch instead of the mod itself. It's looking for about 400 megs worth of textures and objects that aren't there.
I'm grabbing the actual mod now. If for some odd reason this doesn't work, I'll just reinstall.
