Mate, I think the six axis stuff for your descent remake might have addled you. It's six degrees of freedom, not six dimensions!

Also you are talking pure burning man nonsense.
hedonicflux~~ on 23/9/2016 at 21:18
Fuck burning man. Place for the rich and privleged to go all out hedonist in their shallow ways. Commercial piece of crap.

Dude you are 100% burning man.

The bullshit is strong in this thread. Every single thought in the human brain (and potentially the gut) is the result of action potentials sending electrical impulses along nerve fibres. This is wholly dependant on there being infrastructure to carry those impulses. Sure, the existence of permutations of impulses increases the number of potential pieces of information possible by orders of magnitude, but not infinitely.
It's very easy to sound all sage and deep talking about the capacity of the human mind when you know very little about its workings.

So you're rejecting the ideas of Arthur C. Clarke, Daryl J, Bern, Thomas Young, and Gottfried Leibnitz all at once? These aren't just my own thoughts, you know. And I don't have to have a degree in physics to formulate this stuff. I read what I find on the web and I contemplate it with logic. You folks are so hardset on your "established science" it seems. But experiments have been done and evidence has been produced that many of the classical assumptions of physics are false.
I think it's fear. People don't want to think about these concepts. It's the great unknown.
faetal on 23/9/2016 at 23:32
Of course you think that, it's pretty much the simplest way to dismiss the ideas of people who know more than you do.
It's the classic open you miiind argument and amounts to little more than a teenage platitude designed to satisfy your ego.
Can you please tell me what the neuroscience credentials are of the names you listed? Because that's the subject we're on.
I've thought about these concepts plenty, it's incredibly easy to contemplate the things you mention. What is difficult is to spend years actually studying the mechanisms involved and then adjust your daydreams to fit. I understand that all sounds a bit complicated and hard and thus it's simpler just to assume whatever you can imagine must be true, because it's more interesting and makes people say "ooo how deep" more readily.
Renzatic on 23/9/2016 at 23:37
Like what? Quantum mechanics doesn't disprove classical physics in any way whatsoever.

Im not so much interested in that, as much as I am in the imaginative realm of consciousness. Since the discussion also took a turn toward consciousness, could you explain your thoughts on that subject and how it relates to what you are saying, about the physical constraints of the human mind?
