We've already had two seasons of Ghost in the Shell based on that premise, Renz. :grr:
squiggles: your meds are your friends. Do not forget them as you walk down the corridor of mind expanding psychedelic tea.

I had to get on Zoloft at one point. The stress of my life was unmanageable. But once on SSRI your priority one goal should be to get off. They dull you and make you content. They suppress empathy and make you carefree. I hate SSRIs with a passion. I hope I will never be needing them again.

Just to concur with Vivian here, there's no way the brain can store infinite information. Not just quantitatively (as in infinite repeats of something) but also qualitatively (as in the human brain can't comprehend anything the human sensory suite isn't capable of processing). If you replace infinite with "a lot of things" though, you're dead right.

But the brain is capable of expansion, just as it did with the encephalization of ape brain to human brain. Again, what Goldmoon Dawn said. I'm not talking about the capacity of the brain at this moment. I'm talking about it's potential capacity.

There actually is a peak of obtainable processing capabilities, limited physical constraints and unyielding laws of the universe. This high point represents a mind bogglingly vast level of intelligence. It'd be easily capable of though processes we couldn't even begin to comprehend. But there is an eventual plateau.
The universe can't support infinite evolutionary growth of intelligence. Physics, or at least our current understanding of them, won't allow it.

I think our friend is merely talking about good old consciousness. Most here probably dont know too much about it, based upon the way everyone here gets on. The mind, whether intelligent people want to accept it or not, is just a tool. A simple tool, to help us survive in our earthly environment.
However, there is something that seperates us from the physical earth, and that of course is consciousness. The mind is just one tool in understanding consciousness, and as our friend talks about, expanding that consciousness to universal levels and beyond. Mind altering drugs, in their myriad forms, seem to play a key role in this endeavor.
Everything you can imagine, whether accepted as real or not, adds to universal consciousness.

At the limit, we simply discover how to transgress into another dimension. And this isn't a matter of the right technology. The mind is fully capable of time travel as it is. There need only be the will and determination to make it happen, and it will.
Vivian on 23/9/2016 at 20:47
Oh what the fuck do you think another dimension means? It's literally just length x breadth x depth x time x some other variable that represents the contents of the universe, it's not another set of space-time where everyone is purple or something. That's Red Dwarf physics not reality.

You don't seem to understand what successive dimensions are. We are three dimensional beings who interpret the fourth dimension as time, because our minds aren't capable of fully grasping the spatial quality of the fourth dimension. We will learn to traverse the fourth dimension as a spatial dimension, it's only a matter of time. The neccessary computations will need to be made to develop an understanding of the universe on the level of the fourth dimention. The human mind is perfectly capable of that, and the next dimension, and the next.
