At least he's remaining on topic.
And of course did anybody briefly consider the possibility that he hasn't been back because he's been busy with this bullshit? I like lots of words with B in them.

I had adressed the point that closure might not be possible to achieve
through a court. What if they leave her off for want of evidence? Not entirely unrealistic after that much time. He'll still believe it was her and she'll walk free but will certainly never speak with him.
Perhaps a pinch of powder in the pecan pie puts the proper postscript on the package?
I P on your B dethtoll.
In case anyone doesn't get me I'm saying "through the court" is the only reasonable option to quell any guilt over having done nothing to right his fathers death. Do you really want to cozy up to dear murder mom?

Am I the only one with deja vu here? I'm sure gunsmoke has mentioned the issue of his mother possibly being the murderer of his father before.
Good luck with it gunsmoke. And I don't just mean the legal issues but the impact this is going to have on your life. Rough stuff. I hope your family are supportive.

Dethtoll: Yes, he's mentioned it before.
Tocky: Your mother.

Please don't confuse me with SubJeff, Kolya. I'm fairly certain he doesn't have a beard. ;)

Interesting story, this whole murder thingy. I swear that commchat is the best place to find twisted plots & things for writing stories, aside from watching Dog the Bounty Hunter. Thanks for sharing gunsmoke!

If she has any love for her children, she should rather try and explain what really happened and get their understanding. I feel that, given the apparent circumstances, it's not really their responsibility to chase after her any more.

Provided she's guilty. I find it hard to believe that 30 years ago, the authorities wouldn't have seen the same things that point to the mom as the dad's murderer that, from what gunsmoke has said, seem to be blatantly obvious upon the exhumation & re-examination of the body now. I don't buy the line that the ever-so-mysterious-yet-oh-so-powerful Masons had anything to do with covering up the mom's alleged crime. Sounds more to me like someone's watched 'National Treasure' one too many times. It also sounds to me like gunsmoke's father's family has been filling his head with 'your mother killed your father' since he was little.

I get the feeling that the dad's family had already tried & sentenced mom years ago. And considering the influence the dad's family has had on gunsmoke ('
We (my father's family) have always suspected, ' ), any attempt by mom to explain would pretty much be like her pissing in the wind. We're talking about In-Laws here; in-laws who obviously wanted to blame someone for
their family member's death. I know when someone you love dies a sudden and untimely death you want to blame someone or something because their death just doesn't make sense; your mind needs a
reason. Sounds like the in-laws decided it was all mom's fault from day one and they're finally getting their day in court. Just having a hard time understanding why it's taken 30 years, is all.

Please don't do that. It only encourages him.
