No, we'd rather you just get hit by a car.

Yeah, there isn't much I can add here cept my condolences. :(
I guess you could be up front your mother about it, say that despite what the courts have said, you know exactly what she did. Admittedly, that might not be the best idea, considering how the situation lays. But if you can safely, a good confrontation might offer you at least some form of closure.

I've always felt kind of shitty that I divebombed a thread this personal, but I was on a week long drinking binge at the time and I was pretty oblivious.
Guns: keep your head up man, best of luck

Are you ever NOT on a week long drinking binge?
Yeah, sorry gunsmoke. Jerry Springer is funny until it happens to your family. Maybe it'll all look different a few years from now. :(
Chade on 19/11/2009 at 21:25
The whole situation pretty much sucks, Gunsmoke. :(
At least you know now ... although I'm not sure if that confirmation would be a help or a curse at this point.
Enchantermon on 19/11/2009 at 22:56
Sorry, man. :(

I appreciate that you shared with us gunsmoke. I realize there aren't words that could help the feeling, but hang in there.
You know... I've researched truth & reconciliation commissions and the whole idea is you offer blanket amnesty to the perpetrator, but in return the perpetrator is required to tell every single relevant fact she knows; tell the whole story. And for the victim's family, like you said, that's usually the only thing they want, just the truth ... what happened & why, and from her own mouth, not her denying it (lying) to her dying day. It provides a kind of closure and something to hold on to and make sense of. It's worked so well where it's been used, it makes me wonder why it hasn't been successfully introduced into domestic criminal law, in cases just like this ... offer amnesty and get the truth. (I mean, I can understand why it hasn't; but it's unfortunate that it hasn't.) Anyway, just a thought. Ask the prosecutors about it and see what they think.

Keep yer chin up, gunsmoke, and sorry for trailing this thread into another one a while back. That shit was uncalled for.
