Go to the doctor.
Had my knee cap pop out when I was younger and still living at home. I stood up funny, put too much weight on my left leg, and the knee cap went out on me. I started screaming my head off. My older brother came rushing in, he immediately pushed it back into place. I collapsed onto the floor in relief, turning as white as a ghost from the pain.
My parents took me to the doctor, yeah, I went to anyway. The doctor said I was lucky my brother reacted so quickly to push it back in place. It swelled up like a balloon after that.
The doctor would of had to put it back in place, more painful the longer you wait.:erm:

Since you're inviting wild guesses, mine would be that you snapped a tendon. That would explain the inability to move your finger, and the bruising and swelling looks about right, too. It can heal on its own in some cases, but at the very least it needs to be bound or put in a cast so the finger stays absolutely still for a couple of weeks. You really do want to see a doctor, or your thumb could be messed up for good :erg:

BA: Isn't there a risk of pinching nerves and shit if you push dislocated joints back in yourself?

That maybe a dislocation. Get to a doctor. Don't wait it out. Don't try to fix it yourself.
Damaged nerves suck really bad. Any type of pressure feels like someone is stabbing you.

As a well-known and respected member of the medical community, it's quite obvious to me that you have contracted AIDS, and it has spread straight to your thumb. I'll need to prescribe retrovirals for you to take for quite a while - I hope you have insurance.

Oh I'm sure there is some risk in doing it yourself. Better than having the doctor do it later, I'm sure. Either way, it had to be pushed back in. Less stress on the joint, having it pushed back in almost immediately. My brother pushed inward, the way the knee cap should be pushed back. Not a pleasant experience. I suffered no other complications after that.
My best medical guess, a possible fracture for Thief13x. I think he'd be in a lot more pain with a broken thumb. Who wants to take bets? Huh? Who is with me!

Considering your current location I'm not really sure... :erm:

-Did you have an intense burning sensation for 5+ minutes after the injury? And by this I mean as if it was being activly burned by very hot water.
-Did you experience a slight fever?
-Gently feel both thumbs and compare injured to non-injured, is the swelling very hard to the touch?
Any of these and it is very possible it is a break of some sort. I fractured my toe in 3 places 4 weeks ago and it's still a little stiff.
Best thing you can do is not to bend it in any way to prevent scare tissue build up and have your GP give it a once over. You don't want a bone fragment floating around in there for too long if there is one, it's painful! Plus there could be other reasons as well that may need treatment.
Hope the swelling goes down and it's not broken! :erg:

I really hope you are still drunk, because if not you are sounding more like a douche with every passing day.
As for your thumb, it doesn't look good. If your school has a health services, you could probably get it looked at free or at least cheap. They might tell you they have to get it xray'd, but you would at least have a good idea.
