So yesterday I got wasted whilst awaiting the steelers game and cookin and cleaning the apartment (pounded a 12 on a very empty stomach). Anyways, me and my roomy are outside at like 2 tossing the footy and I reach to grab a bullet and it overextends my thumb (no biggy this has happened to me before.
I hop around in pain for like 3 minutes (nearly stepping in a dog turd) and come to rest on my chair in front of the game. I had like 3 beers instantly to dull the pain (hurt like hell) and passed out like an hour into the game (real bummer, was a long week).
So I wake up this morning and note that my left thumb base is about twice the size of my right with a blue tint of brusing. Normally I wouldn't think it was a problem but i can't move my thumb (even now like 18 hours later) more than a millimeter or two in any direction. Typing this is even hard as hell. So Q...is it broken?

Forget about the thumb, and let's talk about those 2 white sticks under your knees that you call legs. LOL!
Me thinks your thumb was injured in some other way than just trying to grab a beer. Perhaps you fell down while kicking the sack around? Lots of ice are usually the cure for this, but you didn't get the ice on in time.

Did you take MUTATE! perk recently?
Now, my laical judgement is that your thumb has been misplaced from the joint, what resulted in some kind of hematoma near the joint.
Stop asking common people about this and go see the doc. If it is what I think it is, he will drag your thumb back into the joint.
Will it hurt? YES. You will scream. And you'll be more careful next time.
Your thumb will be also immobilized for some time, healing for next one or two weeks.
Worse case is it's broken.
