I'll be honest, there is a bias I have, and it certainly may color my view, but people who carry concealed weapons, and aren't policemen or a woman, are a danger to society.
I love people who assume becoming a policeman automatically makes you some sort of Jedi master who is just
so much more qualified to carry a gun than someone who doesn't wear that spiffy uniform and badge.
Your statement is doubly stupid considering all concealed-carry laws I know of require some sort of firearms training (military or otherwise) anyway.

Namdrol: What happened here is I was in a pissy mood, read the first post, got pissier, skimmed a bit, and posted my reply. Then came back later and read in a more detailed manner after that and forgot to go back. I have a tendency to do that; it's a bad habit, and represents some sort of personality flaw I'm sure. My barrier to entry when writing on an internet forum is much lower than doing shit in real life, and that's surely a good thing. I actually feel like a bit of a cunt for slagging on Gunsmoke after actually bothering to read his second post, so I apologize, and will I try to work on that more in the future.
Gunsmoke, glad to see this was a learning experience. Some people are lucky enough to get a life changing experience that affects them positively, and it looks like you were one of those people. Good luck in the future!
Still, get a proper stock for that shotgun :) Even if you're all anti-gun now, having a shotgun may still be necessary in your neck of the woods, and I wouldn't want you to shoot those neighbors that I don't care about. :thumb:
Zyme: Don't get me wrong, I'm the last person to think that the police are necessarily fully equipped to deal with things, but they actually are authorized to protect other people, and have training about when and when you can't use deadly force. I don't remember with complete accuracy right off hand, but to get a concealed carry in one of the places where I lived, all you had to do was register with the sheriff, do a basic handgun safety course, and go through the proper procedures need to buy a handgun.

It's also a solid possibility that even when talking to them in a friendlier, more suggestive manner, they still would have acted out.
Personally I think he should've blasted dem fools.
No acting out.
No repeat speeding offences.
No worries.

Yeah, well who are you to question (
http://www.courthousenews.com/2009/09/23/Family_Says_911_Tape_Caught_Cops_Planning_Cover-Up_After_Shooting.htm) this sort of reasoning?
Rank and file cops are not just here to protect us. They are here to lock us up in cages when we don't obey, plain and simple.
Obviously most cops are well-meaning, but much of the LEO culture which has been fostered for the past several years is abhorrent and antithetical to anything but a police state.

90% of police officers are not worth their badge.
