My newest toy should be arriving today: (

As some know, I've been a big fan of the Kindle, and to me, this newest version has the potential to be nirvana. Touch screen, full color, with a web browser (wifi only) and thoroughly integrated with Amazon's web site, whose products I use often. All for the paltry sum of $200.
I know Mr. Jobs would have disagreed, but I really like the smaller form factor of the 7" kindle vs. the 10" iPad (although we'll see now if this hold up for things like movies and magazines). Just seems much more portable. Ipads are definitley cool, but I don't have as much need for portable full blown computer/laptop, so something cheaper but still with cool features seems like a better choice for me anyway. In any case, full review coming soon!

I bought one for my mom for Christmas; she's been wanting a Kindle and a tablet and this is both. Also, it's only $200, making it a bargain.

I got myself a Kobo touch recently, and it does the job perfectly for an eBook reader. I'm still on the fence on whether I want a more functional tablet, and what form that might take, but this works for what I bought it for.

By most reports, this is a pretty great end-user device. Only bad things I have heard is that flash kills the battery (this is still better than apple's approach of "flash kills the battery so you can't have it!") and the browsing optimisations should be a concern if you're doing anything vaguely dodgy (which is easily fixed by rooting) . The price point is unbelievable. I really hope apple feel some pain from products like this. An all-helvetica rounded corners future is not exactly my cup of tea

I showed interest in the Kindle Fire when Amazon started advertising it on TV and internet. Love the low price point and simple features. I wonder how it handles games and applications.
Probably demo one soon.
