I can't find the Fire Talisman in 'The Mystery Man'.
Could you tell me if it is in the mini library? With the note on the bookshelf that talks about a book called the song of shadows? if so, maybe a screenshot of the frobbable book? I've looked all over that room and didn't find it.
Also, is Mortimer the zombie looking thing that is standing in front of both cell doors? If so, I accidentally blew him to smithereens!! If not, could you be a bit more specific as to where in this room he is? I'd like to get the key, to explore the rest of the FM. And a few doors remain locked.

Are you playing on Expert? That's the only difficulty where you'll find the book to frob in the small library near the kitchen. If so, the book is
to your left as you walk down the stairs into the room.If you still can't find it, email me and I'll send you a screenshot. If you're NOT on expert, then read (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63692) the FAQ as it will tell you where to look for it on the other difficulty settings. :)
And no, that's not Mortimer.
Go up the stairs that are past the room those cells are in and into the room at the top. Frob the wall painting and the one over the table will move. There's a lockbox in there. Pick it open and a bookcase will open on the wall. Mortimer and his room are through there. Jysala on 20/7/2004 at 03:39

I think I am stuck in Hectors room. [SPOILER]I got in through the secret bookcase and within a few seconds it closed behind me. I picked up the stacks of coins and the speed potion, as well as opening the 2 chests and slashing the banner above them. And this is where I am stuck. There is what appears to be a frobbable safe of sorts above a dresser but when I use the master key or the lockpicks on it, nothing happens. Also what do I do with the Golden Skull?[/SPOILER]

[SPOILER] The golden skull has no use, that I'm aware of. The lever (or button) to open the safe is behind the altar you found the skull on. There's a note posted there that's pretty much a dead giveaway. [/SPOILER] You're not stuck. The bookcase can be opened from the inside.

In regards to [SPOILER]Hectors fire poker, the western tower key, and Alexi's dinner plate,[/SPOILER]I think I may have messed up big time.
Is the dinner plate [SPOILER]part of the dishes that were on the dining room table? If so then I grabbed it along with everything else, and it shows up in the inventory as gold/gems. The fire poker is suppsosed to be in the room behind the secret bookcase and subsquent locked door, but I didn't see it. I tried slashing the banner over the bed, but the sword made a wooden sound. And I don't know how to get to Alexi's room :([/SPOILER]
