In FM The mystery man the main badass:ebil: is a creature refered to as "The Master"
there is no chance defeating him in combat(this isn't the usual type thief mission although it is very good:) )

There is no holy water available in this mission. There was supposed to be originally, but it was removed due to some problems, but the note is still there, which is misleading. There is a way to defeat the Master, though. Before you read the book that triggers his appearance, walk down to the far end of that walkway (either end) and you'll see a hole in the floor. Look up above that hole and you'll see the ceiling is wood. Put a rope arrow into the wood and you'll have a fast way down to the lower floor. Then go back, read the book (this is a good time to use an invisibility potion or a speed potion, if you have one), then run like crazy for the rope arrow. Climb down and move away into the shadows as quickly and quietly as you can. Get a long way away, so that the Master won't find you. He comes down to look for you pretty quickly (unless the invisibility potion worked, in which case he'll be standing where he materialize. In this case, you can sneak up the stairs, creep up behind him and backstab him.) Once he's downstairs, he'll look for you for a bit, then settle down. When he does, sneak up behind him, backstab him and he's done for. (You may need to whack him once or twice more after the backstab, but that's it.) :)

I have found the stone to open the door in the gallery.
Thank you.

I am just about to enter the Tower, but first I would like to know how you open the 2 chests in the throne room. I can't lock-pick them and can't find a key for them. It is not that I need or want more loot (I already have about 13000) I just want to open them.
Also, the book in the first chamber of the tower mentions a poison to be found in Hector's room that will destroy Necrom. If it's needed where is it located? It sure would be easier than trying to fight him!
Thanks for the help.

I don't have any saves in the right place to check how to open those chests, but I don't remember them being tricky or needing a special key. Have you tried just opening them? Maybe they're not locked at all.
As for the "poison" mentioned, it was originally holy water, but it was removed from the mission for some reason, so don't waste any time looking for it.

Don't worry....just go in there and kick his Mysterious ass. He's tough so
you'll probably have to out smart him.
If you have trouble do a search and you'll find many colorful solutions to the problem.
I just went in there, marched right up to him and said "Bad Mystery Man...you shouldn't turn people into zombies!" He gave a maniacle laugh and tried to kill me. I dodged the blow and tripped him. He fell to the floor and started crying. Like any good thief I stole his lunch money and gave him a wedggie. He sobbed on the floor for quite some time wondering what had gone wrong. Then I made him write 10,000 times..."I will not turn nobels into zombies. I will leave them be so Garrett can rob them." After he was done and had a bad hand cramp I sent him to the bonehoard to live out the rest of his days.
:p

Nightwalker told me of a kewl way to get rid of him, and it worked perfectly! He actually stood completely still even if I beat him in the head with my sword, maybe he fell asleep?

Alright, I've searched and searched but I can't seem to find the answer to my problem. Finding the fire talisman is holding me up. I put the book on the table and heard the sound of a door opening but I don't know where the opening took place. I've searched what I believe to be the entire mansion and nothing seems different. Can anybody help me find this secret passage?
By the way, this really is an excellent mission, very hard but very good.
Bravo Doaal!!

It should be right in the same room with you!
A bookcase on the right hand wall should have opened and revealed a doorway.
Thanks, a potted plant I had tossed around earlier in the game was blocking the doors path. I've got to break my habbit of throwing everything that's throwable.
