Awwwww...Damn! I have trouble killing that insane guy (MM)! He's too strong!

The Mystery Man?
Well umm Nightwalker had a pretty kewl way of getting rid of him! She told me the following:
"If you go down to the far end of the walkway where you read the book, there's a place with a hole down to the lower level. It has a wood ceiling so you can shoot a rope arrow up in there. Then read the book (use a speed potion, too, if you have one or an invisibility potion, though that's only available on the easiest setting), run for the rope arrow, get down as fast as you can and way over into the shadows. He'll chase you down, look for a bit, then settle down and you can just sneak up behind him and backstab him. I usually take a bit of damage but not much."
Hope ya didn't mind that I pasted this Nightwalker!
:)

Killed him! He wasn't that tough...I just read the book, climbed down and when he lost me, I backstabbed him. He started fighting like a real haunt, which was no problem.
That's how I killed him! He was easy, now that I think of it.
Excellent fan mission.

I don't mind at all, naarmo! :)

Are we supposed to kill that black spectre dude that appears after you read a document in Lady Alexei's chambers ?
Yametha on 27/3/2002 at 00:34
You can do what you like with him.

That was easy. Now a more perplexing question. Any hints as to where the upper floor key is? This is a large map, and I've already back tracked to the outdoor garden maze looking for something I missed. I need to get into Talbot's room, apparently.

A dead person has the key, if i'm not mistaken.
Look out for clues of a foul oder. And since we can't smell in Thief, you'll ahve to take other's words for it if there is a smell...

I think you're referring to a certain individual, whose key I already snatched. It was the treasury key, which ends up being kind of a red herring. The room it opens contains fake goodies. But I'll go back and see if I missed a second key on his body.
