Thanks for the help. I searched all over the place for that stinking thing. I spent several minutes in that room alone looking for the book before you assured me that it was in there. :D

Okay, I'm about ready to give up. I have everything except the fire talisman and fireplace poker. Also, I can't figure out how to deal with the gold vase in the art room to activate the exit.
A few hints or even spoilers would make my day. This is a super mission and I'd really like to finish it.

Okay, here you go: Fire Talisman -
Spoiler:
Where it is found depends on what difficulty level you are playing. On Expert, you need to go into the small library, just down the hall from the dining room. There is a note above the small table about a book. Find the book on the shelves in this room and place it on the table below the note. If you are playing on the easier difficulties, the fire talisman should be in the room beside the talisman room on the Upper Floor.

Poker:
Spoiler:
You already have the earth talisman, so I presume you found Hector's rooms. You missed something in there. Have another look.

Art room vase -
Spoiler:
There is a crystal that, again, isn't always in the same spot. If you have that, you use it with the gold vase to open a secret door. On Easy, it is found in the room you can rope arrow up to, close to the outside shed. It's down behind the tub of water. I think, on the Harder difficulties, that it is found in Alexi's room.

:)

What a great level. I never noticed the fire talisman after I found Nina's heart in that room :D I missed the chard in the corner as well as not using my sword in all the right places. I'll remedy that post haste. I'm now in the west tower scared out of my little mind. This mission will go down as one of the best along with Benny's Dead and Calandra's cistern.

Okay, I'm playing on expert.
I figured out I had to use the speed potion to evade this scary dude's first salvo and hid downstairs for a while. Sneeked back up behind him and I am unable to kill this ghost. Tried back stabbing, arrows and blackjack. Nothing phases this guy. Is there hope? :p
Nightwalker on 23/7/2001 at 19:28
As long as you sneak up on him, he should be easy to kill. He only takes a whack or two with the sword, if he's not alerted. I haven't heard of anyone running into any weird problems with the end on this.
Huckeye on 24/7/2001 at 01:22
I snuck on him afer he calmed down and it took two overhand swings with my sword. After the first hit, he just stood there and took the second like a man. :)

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
I've killed the master and all of his tower minions. I can't, however, seem to find the crystaline scepter. I've knocked out every guard on the premises as far as I know (boy was it fun blackjacking all those chumps at the front door). I also haven't been able to locate the ghost who's crying in that cell area. I've heard people talking about helping that ghost somehow and reading his journal but I don't know where the f he is! I'm sure that must be where the scepter is because I'm quite sure it's the only room I haven't been in yet. People talked about an invisibility potion, as well...Is there one? I never found it or the holy water which was mentioned in Hector's room. I'd love to have either of those items for the 2 uninvited guests who show up in Alexei's room when I go back to read why he tried to kill me. I've left completing that objective to last purposely to insure I'd have health and weapons enough after my battle with the big cheese.
So to recap where are: the crying ghost's room, the crystal scepter, the holy water and the invisibility potion? Thanks in advance for the help
P.S. This mission has got to go down as one of the 5 greatest FM's of all time. When those two freaks popped up from nowhere in Alexei's room I actually got so scared that it took me 2 days before I could play this one again. Even then, as I said, I'm saving reading that note til the very end. Far creepier and scarier than Bloodstone for my money, because there the undead were in the proper context and I knew what to expect. Here, every time I read a scroll I was terrified that they'd be popping up outta nowhere again! The entire wing from the artroom passage on to the room with the big tub of water I was holding my breath in terror thinking one of those corpses would attack at any moment! I probably would've had a heart attack if they had!

I don't know of any ghost that you have to help. Perhaps thats just a cool and creepy ambient sound. The holy water I think was in Talbot's room, then again I'm not quite sure. It was the one with a load of chests all over the place. The invisibility potion is in that upper area that leads to the high porch that overlooks the pool and the door to the master's chambers. The area is directly above the room with the really cool scklight with a gate leading to the back entrance. It's been a while since I played so I'm not entirely sure.
As for the scepter:

Spoiler:
Go back to the ice room below the dining room table. Now clumb up to where the talisman was. Look to your left and you will see small ledges that you can jump up. Those lead to the scepter.

I've never heard anything about helping a ghost, either. Where did you hear about it? Sharga has covered most of your questions. I don't think the holy water really exists in the mission. I've always found the reference to it rather strange, because I've never come across anybody who found any. Sharga's right about the location of the invisibility potion, but I believe it is only there on the easiest difficulty setting. On the others, the chest is empty.
I loved this mission, too, by the way. It's right up there with the best.
