You can't get that key until much later. You must still be missing things. What keys have you found? Do you have the Upper Floor key or the Master's key? You also need 4 talismans. Post back what you have found and we'll be able to get you unstuck. :)

Wow, I haven't read a single thing in the mission about the Talismans -- I must be blind. I have the Upper Rooms key, several Front Door keys, and the Back Gate Key. While searching the forum for answers I read about the Talismans and ended up going back to the Dining Room to find the "Gold Plate," but I had already cleared it all off. I am playing on the Easy level (anytime I think there might be a chance of dead people walking around I play on Easy), so it might not be there. This mission is great, I just wasn't prepared for all the cerebral stuff. Thanks.

Check your inventory. On Easy the plate should have been on the table, but it doesn't go into loot, it shows as a seperate item. :)

The Gold Plate isn't in my inventory and it definitely isn't on the table. My game is saved with me standing on the dining room table until I can puzzle this out :)

Hey, I just remembered that there is a dining room on the "Upper Floors" as well. I ran up there to see if that was where the "Gold Plate" was, but it wasn't there either. Man am I bad.

If the plate is not on the table, it's locked up in a chest in one of the rooms in the upper floor. good luck

If you're definitely playing on Easy, then it's possible you did drop it someplace accidentally. It shouldn't be locked up in a chest unless you're on a harder difficulty. Do you have a save from before you cleaned out the dining room? You could go and have a look and see if it was there or not. I've come across some weird bugs in missions that only crop up intermittently, so you might want to make sure you haven't stumbled on one. :)
