My first entchantment... - by wun

Some people who have made more enchantments than me claim that your skill for whatever effect you are adding also plays a role when you enchant yourself. I haven't made enough enchantments to be able to judge that nor have I specifically looked for it, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. Also the master Enchant trainer is very likely to attack on sight, so it may be a bit more trouble to train Enchant than to just buy whatever enchantments you need.

Thankyou both of you that pretty much leaves me with money making schemes. As so many threads seem devoted too and I still find frustrating. I've trapped about a 15 ancestrol spirits/boneguardians/BoneLords and sold them then stole them and sold them to the guy across the street so many times it makes me sick.
I have looted dungeons for hours coming back with a few deadric weapons which still only give 1500 plus all the guys goods which I resell to the other guy and get what goods I can from him with the left overs and sell them to the pawn brokers across the way.
I have looted peoples stashes in stores to give them to the guy next store to them also. It gets rather dizzing and quite thought provoking (if not my nerves provoked) to hold down the button for 20 minutes just to get my Daedric Long Sword 1-7 fire damage down to a decent price (with buying all the armorers or pawn brokers goods).
So I'm trying to figure out? What am I missing, some great secret that I've overlooked in this game and have been wandering around like a ninny for the past few months. (I only play an hour a day tops). I'm at a loss of how some people claim to have 100K or 50K ect. Have all these constant affects when I'm a devoted Gamer of my lovely X-Box and just barely broke 30K after a month of gaming.
I guess in short: WTF? Am I doing wrong.
Thanks In Advance and I'm sorry for all those who have to read this long drawn out thread just to say "use the search" (Believe me I have). If you don't want to answer it I may point yourself to the back button and the lovely thread above this one (If it is still above this one at the time of posting) To apease your posting needs.

Due to some interesting programming the Mercantile skill might be useful to you. It decreases the cost of enchantments and the higher it is the less money you will get when you sell stuff (a bit backwards). Also if you enter the barter window of an enchanter before you do the enchantment you can afterwards sell some of your extra stuff and get the money you spent back.

Winged I think you might of really helped me out here. This was getting my boxers in a bunch so to speak. I made another 10K today in my hours worth of morrowind fun. I raised a shrine by a shrine sold-resold ect for about 20 minutes until I had some nice money.
Now that I have My 45K of money I can go to the enchanter with my Azura gem with a winged twilight (150K) and with my Strata Grand soul gem (80K). Open barter window right? Then I click on the enchant option.
I first load my Grand soul gem pick all my goods. Then chang the soul Gem to Azura instead. (For some reason it doesn't want to create a constant affect while using the azura to begin with).
Now here is my question once I spend my money? (I'll probably have to get some more). I'll have my enchantment. I then click on the barter window which will have no doubt my 60K or whatever horrendous ammount I spent correct?
I then sell them the Grand soul gem with the saint, to get it back? Did I say that right? I'm asking this in a post now, because frankly I don't know if it is worth all this money if I don't get some flow back.

Just a quick note, the reason your Azura's Star isn't allowing a constant effect is because of the soul involved; Winged Twilights aren't strong enough :p
I'll leave the answering of the barter/enchant/barter move to WK (as I've always used the editor to make my own enchantments), but what you said sounds right to my unenlightened eyes. (And yes, I can hear with my eyes; lipreading is fun ;))

Alright Forsythe I don't understand that and here is why. 150K for winged twilight, 80K for Golden Saint Strata. ? Something I am missing?
Now if their is my hypothesis is that the winged twilight costs more money simply because it is in the Azura star?

Azura's Star has a base value of 5000, a Grand Soulgem has a base value of 200. To find the value of a gem with a soul in it you multiply the base value with the soul value (amount of charges it will give) thus a Grand Soulgem with a Golden Saint/Ascended Sleeper will have a monetary value of 400 x 200 = 80k while Azura's Star with a Winged Twilight will have 300 x 5000 = 150k. What determines the ability to make a constant enchantment is the soul value which must be 400 or higher, the monetary value doesn't matter.
And you seem to have understood what I said, it works in the patched version and I believe it will also work in the pre-patched version and on X-Box.

First off I would like to say Thankyou. I'm here to share my story and revive this dead thread :).
I remembered your comment about "sell the soul gem" to get some of my cash flow back. I did better then that. I have all these items I can't use,Glass frost sword, Glass Poison sword, Daedric Shield, Daedric Tanto and so forth.
So I went into her, Did the little cheat where I arm the 80K soulgem first then load the azura star. So my item can have constant affect.
I got me a 3 health constant amulet, and 5 fatique constant extravigant pants.
This has helped my long treks and melee combat a lot. After I had everything picked out and enchanted. (I only had 60K) I'd sell her the Daedric shield and got all my money back. I repeated the process and sold the glass swords. Got all my money back again :).
Thanks again everyone who helped me out.
