As crazy as it sounds, I basically get to sit around and design a level for.. get this.. English 386: Restoration and 18th century literature.
My goal is to recreate one small block (say about the size of South Quarter) and have it resemble London just prior to the great fire of 1666. Also, I will be doing an interior setup of one of the smaller cathedrals.
So far things have been moving smoothly; I'm learning the editor, I've found some great pictorial and descriptive sources, and have a time frame to work with. Interestingly enough, I've found that some of the names of our favorite "City" are actually closely related to real places. For example, there are two main sections of the real London called Aldergate and Aldgate (Audale?), as well as a place called South Court (South Quarter). I don't know if any of the designers were history or literary buffs, but if that was intentional you pulled it off nicely and I therefore grant you e-penis +40.
Some of the coats of arms and signs are almost direct replicas from the actual historical documents, especially the one for the pub in South Quarter, as are the "gates" (where loading zones occur). Again, e-penis +40, watch your step or you may hurt yourself.
Now to the part about help. I'm not an artist at all, in fact I can barely even write my own name. What I'm in need of help with is someone to design some very basic costumes from the period that I can use with the editor. Of course, I have run this by my professor who told me this was acceptable given that it is a fairly minor, although equally important, portion of the whole presentation. I can provide the designer with contact information for my professor so that there is no doubt that you are doing something unethical. Also, the person or persons who design these will be fully credited in both the mission and in the handout I'll be creating; I've had my own work plagiarized before, so I am fully aware at how infuriating and disrespectful it can be.
I will be able to provide fairly accurate yet basic designs for the clothing, probably in both textual descriptions and in artistic renderings from the period. All I will need is someone to take those representations and turn them into a texture that the editor can use. I'm also willing to pay for the time involved, but please keep in mind that I am a college student and as such my funds are quite limited. Of course, any works that you create, whether they are given freely or if I have purchased a "license" to use them will remain your own. Basically I'm just leasing them for a specific project and nothing else. Thanks for your time and any assistance or comments you would like to leave.
P.S. Mods if you think this is in the wrong forum please feel free to move it somewhere else.

I'd make sure someone had found a way to do custom skins at all in this release. I'm not sure that our tools support it easily for characters (static meshes, sure)

I was thinking something along the lines of John P's texture pack, which changes/enhances not just costumes but nearly all textures in the game. Of course, I wouldn't need anything that advanced. Perhaps I will contact him and see what he thinks.
