Yes, you made walkthrough for this mission, but I suspect you just make walkthroughs by looking into Dromed instead of playing them. Your information about all secrets and all loot appear too quickly to get it just from playing.
That's got to be the most ridiculous statement I have ever seen on this forum!
You try making a walkthrough only using Dromed, impossible, too many links, scripts, teleports etc, and if you knew anything about Dromed you would know that what you think is meant to be happening via Dromed is not always how things show in game.
A walkthrough for the size of a mission such as Into the Dark Forest would probably take a full 3 days, ie 20-30 hours, and seeing I never release walkthrough for at least 6-8 weeks after release where you got the idea I make walkthroughs too quickly comes from is anyone's guess.
Yes I end up using Dromed, but only when I have given up searching for the last items of loot or secrets, and I often play 3 times to check that all the objectives, secrets etc work the same way, if they don't I need to say so in the walk.

Are you sure about these numbers? Isn't it your policy to wait 1 month before you release a walkthrough, but sometimes you have hard time of waiting and release it way earlier. Like in Reverse Robbery you just released full list of secrets just 3 days after release and I remember you also posted big map with location of secrets. So it really feels like you get all info shortly after release of new Fan Mission.

I often manage to finish making a walkthrough the day on or the day after of release but I don't release it for 6-8 weeks unless the author says it is Ok to do so. Yes I posted the map I made for Reverse Robbery (which didn't show the location of any of the secrets) early because a lot of people were struggling to find certain locations but removed it within half an hour at the request of the author. The final list of secrets was simply a combination of every bodies input on the forum, I found a few as did others, I don't think I had even looked at Dromed at that point.
Making walkthroughs, lootlists and maps are easy when you have a system but that does not mean a lot of work doesn't go into each of them. I made the fundamentals for Double Crossed (yet to be released) by the end of the first day, but then spent another 6 days making a map.
So yes I can make a walkthrough for most missions by the end of the first day of release for most missions, but that doesn't mean I'm cheating or cutting corners as you are suggesting, and if you hadn't noticed I also write a little blog for the Brief Summaries, you think that can be done by looking only at Dromed?
You seem determined to constantly imply that I have no patience either when playing missions or making and releasing walkthroughs, I'll admit I have no patience for complex puzzles and sometimes cheat to find the solutions for those, but seeing I have spent 1000's of hours making walkthroughs, lootlist, maps, Brief Summaries, Mission by Type thread etc I really don't think the word impatience is one you can attribute to me, fast worker yes, impatient definitely not.

@fortuni: Since you are planning releasing walkthrough these 6-8 weeks after release could you also start making walkthrough after this time is finished. Because you really gave me impression that you don't play these missions, but rather you immediately check them in Dromed. Lately I seen posts of people who when they are stuck, they immediately check what to do in Dromed. Your statement of both versions of Into the Dark Forest feeling the same just because they have nearly identical maps felt ridiculous. Because what about FMs with maps based on OMs or other FMs. You aren't gonna to include them in your list, because their map looks identical?

Can you please knock this stupid argument on the head, I'm getting very bored of it.

It's not stupid. You literally said that you check Dromed with first day after release of new mission. Because of that you can randomly come to mission's thread and ask some technical question like about loot worth 1 in Lone Rock Outpost. You didn't use any spoiler tag either. Just spoiled to everyone that there is bonus objective in this mission. I don't need to know about it right away.
As for the other argument. I think that judging FM just based on map is stupid.

Galaer, I think it goes without saying that fortuni uses dromed to be able to write a walkthrough or check out some secrets. But that does not mean he´s not playing the missions himself. do you really think he´d go through all the trouble and work if he was not enjoying the missions himself? Of course he is playing them themselves so he also made his own picture of the remastered version. It´s also btw his list, so he can decide for what goes in and what does not.
If you don´t like that, you can just make your own list you know? So far all you do is tell him what he could have not done better instead of just doing it yourself.
Instead of just always complaining, it´d be very nice of you to just go and say "thank you" for once for the hard work that he does. I don´t think you have ever done that. Think about it.
With your constant complaining you kinda destroyed your own thread, that started rather nice but ended not so nice.

On example of Lone Rock Outpost - just 1 hour has passed from release of the mission and he already made his Dromed question about this mission. How can person enjoy mission if he speedrun it and then immediately check this mission in Dromed? That's impossible. Plus this post is right under release post without any spoiler tag. Anyone who wanted to download this mission definitely seen this post. Do you really think I wanted to know that there is bonus objective before even downloading this mission. No, I didn't want. It was really annoying.
Yes, fortuni is making bloody good job with making walkthroughs, but if the process of making one walkthrough is so ridiculously short (1-3 days) (with problems with Dromed he mentioned before I was expecting that making one walkthrough takes couple of weeks) and he's gonna release it after 1-2 months, then I don't see the point for him to check Dromed right immediately and use this knowledge to spoil things to others. I remember having a lot of fun searching for secrets in Patriot. There was no walkthrough man who could check things in Dromed, so exchanging information with others was really fun.
Look, Samantha1. You may not know that, but right after making this thread fortuni PM-ed me with his insulting post that accidentally I made good thread. So that means that my threads are usually bad? Do you think I'm happy about this just because fortuni is making so much for this community?
fortuni on 24/3/2022 at 15:21
I wasn't intending to reply to this thread again, but the comment above deserves a reply.
IIRC Lone Rock was the first mission in the contest I played and it was Vegetables (I think) who asked me to start the thread, which was started about 7 hours (not 1) after the contest missions were released. Whilst playing I found the bonus 1g but didn't notice I had an extra 1g until I had finished the mission, not understanding where it came from I looked into Dromed, as would a considerable number of others with Droming experience, it certainly wasn't an intent to speed run through the mission in order to show off about secrets, bonus objectives or anything else. You think someone looking into Dromed is bad form, it's not, people have been checking Dromed and reporting things in the forum since Dromed was first released, If you think TTLG is bad go check out TDM, everybody over there seems to spend more time no-clipping than actually playing the mission.
Should I have used spoilers, yes, but am I the only person ever to forget to use spoiler tags, NO, it happens.
Do I deserve to be under near permanent attack for making one or two posts that you consider were made too hastily, I don't think so. Under your logic nothing should be posted in the forums until everybody has played the mission, that would mean that nobody should post anything about loot, secrets, objectives, hidden areas or even bugs for at least 2 months after a mission has been released, that is just silly.
Yes I PM'd you saying that I liked your idea of posting your favourite mission by year, that it was a good alternative to Samantha's poll, which you and a few other have criticized because you don't like her idea. I also said that if others added their list of favourite mission by year you may have accidentally come up with a good alternative to Samantha's idea for choosing the best FM ever. How you can describe a compliment as offensive is beyond me, and even more bizarrely how you can extrapolate that into thinking that I was implying that every other one of your posts are bad, well I'll let other make up their minds as to that logic.
I am now done with this thread.
