Is it possible to keep Indiana clean?
(We prefer I-69...which gives a whole new meaning to travel.)

(Our respective governors are related thrice removed, you know.)

Hey, incidentally, I just watched the Persepolis movie yesterday.
Have you seen it? Do you have any opinions about how it represents Iran and Tehran, historically and contemporary?
I think a lot of people, at least in the US, well educated people, are very curious about Iran, and what Iranians think, in a potentially positive kind of way, for a lot of reasons ... it was historically a friend and they hope to build bridges to reclaim some of that rapport; there is a vocal expatriot community that has strong opinions about Iran but we don't hear as much from people inside Iran itself; it's had a lot of drama in recent history, more than most countries have in a century, with the Revolution and the 80s war and oil politics and this and that, so we are curious about an inside perspective; and generally since it's been closed in some ways, or at least overshadowed by "official" statements, people are curious what normal Iranians think beyond what the gov't or CNN says (similar with Russia in the 90s; people were so interested in hearing the perspective of normal Russians after a long closed period); and people have always had the impression that Persians are an inherently interesting and hospitable people with a rich culture and history. :)
Edit: I studied Middle Eastern studies in college, and concentrated on the non-Arab countries and peoples, so that's my interest; and I have a few Iranian friends. I actually once looked into what middle easterners we have on TTLG, and noticed at least two pins in the "TTLG world" map in Iran, one in Tiran, NW of Najafabad, and one SE of Shushtar ... maybe you guys know each other?

As some of the other people in here, I'm from Finland. Not like the other people here, I have a cool video to show about my city: (
