Yes, that's a good thougt. And it was my initial thought. And Llether does cast silence. The problem is that my guy drops his hands and de-selects his spell before llether's projectile (of silence or whatever he shoots) hits me, or even comes near me.

And you can pull your hands up, and even have a spell selected while silence is upon you. You just aren't successful in casting the spell. :confused:
